No weekly news discussion per usual today, but you can listen to the recording Austin and I put up a few days ago. It covers all of the big Nintendo announcements made earlier in the week!
There was plenty of Nintendo news to go around today. Austin and I talk about it all, which includes the Nintendo and DeNA partnership, new membership service, and upcoming “NX” system from the Big N.

Did you know that the gold Mario amiibo offers a little something special in Mario Party 10? Even though it’s not anything overly major, it’s a neat little nugget.
Reddit user “Fergood” tried out the gold Mario amiibo with Mario Party 10, and saw that there was a “set up” section where players can equip a Token. He then noticed that a “Gold” Token was already unlocked. You can obtain the token by unlocking all other gold Tokens, but Fergood was playing for the first time. He tried reloading Mario Party 10 with normal Mario, and the gold Token unlocked previously was no longer there. That must mean gold Mario can give players a little bonus!
Below are some photos showing how the gold Mario amiibo is used in Mario Party 10:
The National Art Center in Tokyo is currently selling a packaged version of Nintendo 3DS Guide: Louvre. Through June 1, attendees can pick up a copy for 3,900 yen.
There’s nothing too special about this given that it’s an exact copy as the download version. That being said, it’s interested that the packaged version is being sold outside of the Louvre Museum.
