Famitsu also touches on other things such as how King Dodongo and Lizalfos are in Hyrule Warriors. There’s also multiplayer with one person playing on the GamePad while the other plays on the TV.

In addition to announcing that Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse will be coming to Wii U, Way Forward sat down with GoNintendo to discuss the progress of the game:

GN: Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse has been in development longer than most thought it would be. How’s the project going?

MATT: Pirate’s Curse is wrapping up nicely. We’ve been in full production for what’s approaching 2 years, with the team working at an aggressive pace. I was optimistic that we could develop the game faster than the original Shantae or Risky’s Revenge, but in the end CURSE is landing at just a hair under the development time of its predecessors. All three handheld Shantae games were self-funded, so smaller teams with longer dev times is typically how we get them done. We know that fans have been waiting a very long time for this one, and we really appreciate their understanding. I’m pleased to report that the extra time has been well spent!

E3 might have wrapped up for the day, but the fine folks at Inti-Creates have a couple of Mighty No. 9 updates for us via Kickstarter! First off a new level has been revealed, it’s a stage focusing around ice and water and is home to Mighty No. 2.

Second, the documentary on Inafune and the team has had it’s first trailer, which you can check out below:

We’re only hours away from Nintendo’s E3 showing so this is no doubt the first of a few screenshots we’ll see from Sakurai and team this week. Today’s screenshots discuss a unique stage exclusive to the 3DS version:

New Super Mario Bros. 2 is a game where you collect tons of coins. Thus, it’s only natural that many coins will appear in this stage… Wait, is this really Super Smash Bros??

Apparently when you collect enough coins:

If you collect 100 coins, you transform into a gold fighter! For a short period of time, your attack power will increase and you won’t flinch when you receive attacks. This unique stage’s name is Golden Plains and it’s exclusive to the 3DS version.

This month’s digital rewards on Club Nintendo have gone live. Members can choose from Electroplankton Rec-Rec (3DS, 150 coins), Kirby’s Dream Land (3DS, 150 coins), Kirby’s Adventure (Wii U, 200 coins), and Mario Party 2 (Wii / Wii U, 250 coins). These items last through July 6.

Just to follow up on our last post, we have a tiny bit of additional information about the title Ubisoft is holding back on for Wii U. CEO Yves Guillemot, speaking with Geoff Keighly for Spike’s E3 All Access Show, said it’s mainly targeted more towards “families and friends.”

He stated:

“What we have this year is two games. We have as you said Watch Dogs but we also have Just Dance. And we have another one we didn’t speak about yet. It will come. Just for Wii U… but it’s more for families, families and friends.”

Shiness ended up including Wii U as a stretch goal for its Kickstarter campaign, but sadly, the target wasn’t met. So what does this mean for a potential eShop release?

Fortunately, developer Ynnis Interactive says a Wii U version will still be considered. For those curious, had the extra $30,000 been raised, the team would have had “extra people and extra time” available to ensure that the game worked well on Nintendo’s console.
