Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Stories 2 were just announced for Switch today, but more news is coming soon. Capcom has confirmed that additional updates will be shared during TGS Online 2020. That also includes Capcom TGS Live 2020. Both of these events are planned for September 25 and September 26 respectively.

More Monster Hunter Rise launches for Switch on March 26, 2021. Monster Hunter Stories 2 follows in Summer 2021.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

Monster Hunter Stories, which started on 3DS, was a very different take on the series. It was more about turn-based battles, exploring the world, and advancing the story.

Capcom is now revisiting the concept with Monster Hunter Stories 2, which has just been announced for Switch. A release is planned for Summer 2021.

Here’s the first trailer:

Monster Hunter Rise

The Monster Hunter series thrived on 3DS, but hasn’t seen much action on Switch. Aside from an enhanced port of Monster Hunter Generations, Capcom hasn’t done much with the franchise on Nintendo’s latest system. However, that’s about to change.

During today’s Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase, Capcom announced Monster Hunter Rise for Switch. It will launch on March 26, 2021.

Here’s the first trailer:

Back when Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection was releasing, Capcom offered Reploid Remixes DLC. This could only be obtained at the time by pre-ordering.

A few months later, the DLC is now accessible to everyone. Better yet, it’s entirely free. Simply head on over to the eShop page and you should be able to initiate the download.

The Reploid Remixes DLC “includes six alternative in-game background music tracks, as well as four specially arranged songs by series veteran composers available exclusively in the Music Player.”

Tomlin also said it’ll “be universal and primal and emotional and everybody can kind of relate to.” Although the film will be something kids can enjoy, “it is not squarely in the kid territory.”

Here’s the exchange between Polygon and Tomlin:

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice

Takeshi Yamazaki has announced that he’s leaving Capcom after 15 years. Yamazaki worked on the Ace Attorney series since its earliest days, and has been a director / head writer on the Ace Attorney Investigations titles plus Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice.

“Although leaving a company is always painful, I like to think of this as ‘graduating’,” Yamazaki said in a tweet translated by Court-Records. “I’m truly glad I was able to make games and meet the Ace Attorney series at Capcom.”

Yamazaki intends to continue working with game development, but also intends to take on new challenges.

Okami HD

In an interview with IGN Japan, Ikumi Nakamura answered a bunch of different fan questions. One topic that came up later on in the discussion concerned Okami, including the possibility of a sequel. Nakamura’s response was interesting to say the least.

As relayed by Nakamura’s translator, she actually intends to pitch a new Okami game to Capcom. The only personal guideline she has is for Hideki Kamiya to return as director.
