Capcom

In celebration of Street Fighter’s 30th anniversary, Capcom and iam8bit are teaming up for an “ultra premium throwback relic”. On the way is an entirely new, limited edition reprint of Street Fighter II for the SNES.

Here’s what you can expect from the package:

Featuring one of two colored cartridges, each housing the original game code and fully playable on NTSC consoles – but that’s just the beginning! The “Legacy Cartridge Collection” embodies retro-inspired luxury, amplifying the core SNES box design with a glistening foil sheen, delicately embossed texture, chic spot varnish and an innovative tri-fold cover that opens to reveal bonus vintage art. Inside, we’re keeping it old-school by restoring the contents of the original instruction booklet, complete with a new archival cover print + secret pack-ins (to be revealed when you crack that shrink-wrap seal).

Monster Hunter Stories

The final localized build of Monster Hunter Stories is starting to reach YouTubers and other media members. Have a look at the game’s first hour below.

Capcom brought the original Mega Man Legacy Collection to 3DS. But as things stand now, the sequel won’t be on any platform – be it 3DS or Switch.

Fans have at least been hoping that Capcom would port Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 to Switch. However, in an interview with TechnoBuffalo, producer Kazuhiro Tsuchiya directly stated that there are currently no plans.

The only sort of small hint we’ve seen about Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 on a Nintendo platform came about earlier this month. It was discovered that the game’s code contained several references to 3DS. It’s possible that Capcom is thinking about bringing the compilation to Nintendo’s portable, or was considering it at one point before scrapping those plans.

Digital Foundry has returned with yet another technical analysis. Monster Hunter XX on Switch gets the focus, including how it stacks up to the 3DS original.

First, on 3DS, Monster Hunter XX was originally a 240p game. But on Switch, Capcom increased the resolution to 1080p while Switch is docked. In portable mode, Monster Hunter XX is 720p on Switch.
