The Fall trailer

Posted on 10 years ago by (@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 0 comments

We last heard about The Fall in October last year. At the time, it was scheduled to hit the Wii U eShop in April.

That month has obviously passed and there’s no new release window at the moment. It’ll release on Steam on May 30th though, with the Wii U version following later.

You can find a trailer for The Fall above.

Armikrog is tentatively scheduled to hit PC, Mac, and Linux in July. A Wii U version is also planned, but it’ll launch at a later date.

When exactly? At the moment, Pencil Test Studios seems to be targeting a fall release.

Producer Luis Gigliotti has also shared a few (vague) words about what Armikrog will offer on Wii U. The team will be implementing “some really cool” features “designed only for that version”.

I cannot say about the specifics [sic] but i can confirm that the WiiU version will have some really cool, WiiU specific features designed only for that version

Also worth mentioning, Gigliotti said the following when asked about a possible 3DS version:

We do want to eventually port the game over to portable consoles, mobile and tablets as well… But we want to make sure we get the PC, Mac, Linux [sic] and WiiU skus done first

“Sadness” is a game that should sound familiar to many Nintendo fans. Nibris announced the project as a Wii exclusive way back in 2006 before ultimately pulling the plug in 2010, which was accompanied by news of the studio’s closure.

In a bit of odd and unexpected news, HullBreach Studios and Cthulhi Games have announced plans to revive Sadness as a Wii U exclusive. The title is tentatively targeted for a 2016 release.

Here’s what you should know:

– Nibris struggled with development with their Gamebryo engine programmers at Frontline and their graphics partner Digital Amigos
– Will stick to the game’s original idea
– Could be some changes and there with regard to characters, mechanics, setting
– Will keep the Gothic noir visual style with a few exceptions
– Will likely be made in Unity
– Starting from scratch
– New elements will be introduced including RPG and puzzle-based mechanics
– There’s also a shift to 2D
– Cthulhi and HullBreach are working as equal partners on the project
– More news at “Indie Sanctum 2014” in October

You can find more quotes from HullBreach Studios and Cthulhi Games over at Nintendo Life.

Reload Game Studio has provided us with three exclusive screenshots from CheeseCake Cool Conrad. You can find them above.

Ittle Dew could finally be hitting the North American Wii U eShop next week. On its website, Nintendo has the game listed for a May 29th launch. We’ll let you know if we receive an official confirmation.
