XSEED will release Akiba’s Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed in North America on July 20, the company announced today. Europe will be getting the game on July 23.

XSEED intends to offer a 10th Anniversary Edition at retail. Copies include the following:

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin

Total worldwide physical and digital sales for Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin have surpassed 950,000 units as of March 31, publisher Marvelous and developer Edelweiss have stated. The last milestone reached was 850,000 total unit sales on January 29th. The game originally launched on Switch and other platforms back in November of last year. Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town

With some games that first launch in Japan, there can be a delay for when it finally reaches fans in North America and Europe. Story of Seasons has been one example of this, but thankfully the gap is decreasing dramatically. It took almost a year for Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town to head west after its Japanese debut, but with Pioneers of Olive Town, the title was made available in the west just one month later.

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town director Hikaru Nakano and producer Dai Takemura spoke about the need for worldwide simultaneous launches in an interview with Dengeki Online. We’ve included our full translation of their comments below.

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town Expansion Pass

Starting today, Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town players in North America and Europe can get their hands on the game’s first wave of paid DLC. It can be obtained as part of the Expansion Pass for $19.99 or the Expansion Pass Set with the main title for $69.99.

The first DLC drop includes:

A new trailer has arrived for Rune Factory 5, which comes to Switch on May 20 in Japan, and some time in 2021 in the West. The Japanese trailer “A Tour with Chief Livia! A Five-Minute Stroll through Rigberth,” shows off some of the various town facilities that the player will be able to utilize. Check out the roughly five minute video here:

Marvelous shared a new DLC trailer for Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town today that highlights the next DLC drop. The Windswept Falls Expansion Pack will include Neil, Dunhill, Felicity, and Hina. These characters were previously featured in Harvest Moon 3D: A New Beginning.

Here’s the trailer:

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town has received a new update on Switch. Version 1.0.4 improves loading times, implements fixes, and adds a language settings menu.

Below are the full patch notes:

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town has reached an impressive sales milestone in its first month of release. Marvelous has announced that the game has sold over 700,000 worldwide units (counting both digital and physical sales) with a short time on the market.

The western version of Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town has only been out for three days (launching March 23), while the Japanese version has been out since February 25, 2021. This is quite the sales accomplishment given this small time of being released and the fact the game is only on the Switch.

Hopefully, the sales will continue to climb and Marvelous will give more updates on the sales numbers soon.

Farming simulators are games that you either get or you don’t, and the evolution of technology has led to an expansion of the genre that has gone beyond the typical routine that involves simply planting a seed and selling crops. We’re now visiting these worlds where farming is complementary to everything else you can do rather than being the core focus. After having revisited the likes of Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town and Return to Popolocrois: A Story of Seasons Fairytale, it’s clear that Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town is moving forward and embracing growth and change now more than ever, which mostly works to its benefit. However, there are clear inspirations from other titles that feel like a dull copy rather than a platform to launch off of. Either way, Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town does well to incorporate new ideas and polish up the old, while having a serene time playing in an environment I keep thinking about and coming back to, even if it’s far from perfect.
