During a conference call stemming from Nintendo’s financial results, president Shuntaro Furukawa reiterated that Switch is in the middle of its life cycle. He also said that the company views this “as building a foundation for growth that goes beyond the life cycles of our previous hardware platforms.”
Regarding the future, Furukawa said that Nintendo “will continue efforts to extend the Nintendo Switch life cycle, while promoting initiatives that make use of Nintendo Accounts and pursuing our goal of motivating consumers to play our platforms for years to come.” Additionally, the massive hit that was Animal Crossing: New Horizons and causing many new hardware purchases “will continue efforts to extend the Nintendo Switch life cycle, while promoting initiatives that make use of Nintendo Accounts and pursuing our goal of motivating consumers to play our platforms for years to come.”

Nintendo says Pikmin 3 Deluxe is often being chose as the next title from Switch players after Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Posted on 4 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 0 comments
Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been a massive success. It has already sold over 26 million copies worldwide despite releasing this year, and has helped move a ton of Switch hardware.
While speaking about the game during a financial results conference call, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa shared an interesting tidbit. Interestingly, Furukawa said that “Pikmin 3 Deluxe has frequently been chosen as the next title after Animal Crossing: New Horizons by many consumers, especially in Japan.” It makes sense that Nintendo wants Switch owners who started out with Animal Crossing “to become aware of and play as many different titles as possible, regardless of whether those titles are new or evergreen.”
Furukawa had this to say when asked about how many of the previously released titles that hit the million mark in the six-month financial period were ones that people can enjoy playing together, and whether they were consciously recommended to Animal Crossing players:
Nintendo says Switch sales are “continuing at a good pace”, “looking to make this another big holiday season”

During the conference call for Nintendo’s latest financial results, president Shuntaro Furukawa was asked about the sales outlook for the next quarter and what can be expected for year-end sales.
Furukawa mentioned that Switch hardware demand has been strong into October, and “sales are continuing at a good pace.” Despite not having a major first-party title like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate or Pokemon Sword/Shield, Nintendo is still hoping for “another big holiday season”, which is “thanks to the many consumers, including those new consumers who developed an interest in Nintendo Switch because of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, picking up our new titles, titles released in conjunction with the Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary and our evergreen titles.”

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin wasn’t always planned for Switch. However, the decision to support the system ultimately worked out for XSEED and the team at Edelweiss.
XSEED Games executive vice president Kenji Hosoi told Siliconera that Nintendo reached out multiple times. There was some hesitation at first since it would impact the original plans and schedule, but a Switch version has paid off so far. Hosoi revealed that pre-orders on Switch are “about a 2-to-1 over PS4.”

[Review] Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin

System: Switch
Release date: November 10, 2020
Developer: Edelweiss
Publisher: XSEED / Marvelous
Farming simulation has had an interesting history ever since Harvest Moon popularized it way back in the 90s. I was always fascinated by the idea of simulators in general, but it wasn’t until recent years when I started to really feel like the genre started to accommodate more types of players and creativity really started to help drive the genre forward. Games like Dragon Quest Builders, Summer in Mara, and Rune Factory give players much more to do than waking up at 6 AM to check the mail and grab some fresh fish and carrots. These kinds of titled helped players like myself ease into the gameplay while also offering a sense of adventure alongside the more serene moments of farming and relaxation. Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin continues this trend of implementing a new way to play and acquiring the materials you need to build a future in a newfound land. It’s as wholesome as it is adventurous, all while providing an immense amount of fun in a unique experience that delves into the love of rice – one of the world’s biggest commodities – as well as Japanese folklore to further exude a beautiful fantasy setting.

[Interview] Adam Howden talks returning to the role of Shulk for Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition
Posted on 4 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Interviews, New Nintendo 3DS, Switch, Wii | 0 comments
It’s been six years since we last caught up with Adam Howden, the voice of Shulk. A lot has happened with the Xenoblade series since then – including a new version of the very original Wii game for Switch.
We felt that with Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition having released earlier in the year, now would be a great time to catch up with Howden once again. It’s a particularly good time since Howden contributed to the game in a big way. Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition features a brand new epilogue, Future Connected, focused on Melia and Shulk.
You can read our full interview below. Note that the discussion contains some spoiler-related information pertaining to the series, but we’ve labeled that part at the very end and separated it from the rest of the interview.
