Pokemon Ultra Sun and Pokemon Ultra Moon were announced two months ago. While we haven’t seen much of either game, that could be changing very soon.

On tonight’s episode of the Japanese show Pokenchi, Pokemon Sun/Moon director Shigeru Ohmori will be making an appearance. He’ll apparently be talking about the latest Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon information and will deliver a “shock announcement” regarding the anime.

Meanwhile, the next issue of CoroCoro could be leaking very shortly. Speculation has pointed to a possible new Lycanroc form. Although not confirmed, the cover has an image of what looks like Lycanroc with a different color scheme and a few aesthetic changes.

We recently came across an interview French website Gamekult conducted at E3. The site caught up with Philippe Lavoué, managing director of Nintendo France. Since we felt it was interesting enough, we decided to go ahead with a full, proper translation.

In the interview, Lavoué touched on many different topics. This includes Switch and third-parties (more games are coming), mobile, and the staying power of amiibo.

We’ve posted the fully translated interview below. Just keep in mind the context of when it was conducted – specifically for questions such as a NES Classic Edition followup.

Virtuos has worked on all sorts of ports and remasters in the past. Their previous projects include Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, Final Fantasy X/X-2, HD, Batman: Return to Arkham, Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection, and plenty more.

Now the studio is turning its attention to Switch. As spotted by Doctre81, senior programmer Xiaoyu Zhang states on LinkedIn that he’s involved with the porting process of a AAA title.

Here’s the relevant excerpt:

WIP: Porting a AAA title to Nintendo Switch
– Re-implement the renderer with Nintendo’s native graphics API(nvn)
– Design and implement the low level mechanism of graphics resource management and threading
– Exploit the performance advantages of the Vulkan-like API (UMA, explicit management of graphics memory, complete control over CPU/GPU synchronization, etc)

Zhang has been working at Virtuous since last March. It’s unclear how long the Switch project has been in development for, however.
