There’s no doubt that FAST Racing NEO is one of the most anticipated Indie titles coming out on the Wii U, not to mention one of the best looking, but one particular thing people keep bringing up since we first got a chance to properly see it a E3 this year is its similarity to F-Zero.

Art Director of FAST Racing NEO, Martin Sauter, is very much well aware of this, and recently revealed a brand new Hero Mode specifically designed for those that love a challenge and are fans of F-Zero.

In FAST Racing NEO, normally when you go through the shiny strips on the sides, they serve as giving you a replenishment of your boost gauge, but in Hero Mode, the gauge will now serve as the racer’s shield. Hero Mode is specifically designed to be a challenge for the more experienced players, and you must finish in 1st place in order to progress to the next race.

Martin Sauter told Nintendo Life that Hero Mode and the difficulty associated with it should quench the thirst for “F-Zero starved players”.

As a fan of F-Zero and racing games in general, I am excited beyond belief for FAST Racing NEO, and it seems that a good amount of the Nintendo community is as well. What do you guys think about this new mode? Any F-Zero fans out there that can’t wait to get their hands on this? Let us know in the comments below!

Genuine arcade games in the modern era have been one of those lost treasures we see far too few of. When they do arise, some still fall short of bringing something refreshing, memorable, and fun to the table. Extreme Exorcism brings back the old school in the best way possible, delivering a unique and fun experience everyone can enjoy. Gameplay is the core focus of Extreme Exorcism, and it executes on this front so incredibly well.

Over at the prestigious Tokyo Game Show, tons of games both upcoming and newly revealed are being shown off on the floor. One of the games being demoed is Capcom’s Monster Hunter Stories, the new spinoff title of their successful Monster Hunter series. Monster Hunter Stories gives the series a brand new beautiful art style but still has that great Monster Hunter gameplay we all love. Take a look at some off-screen footage of the game below!

Nintendo just released a statement revealing that the brand new Star Fox game that’s being jointly developed with Platinum Games has been postponed until 2016.

Shigeru Miyamoto has left the following message regarding the delay below, which was posted on Facebook:

A Message from Mr. Miyamoto Regarding Star Fox Zero

I made a big decision last week.

We have been developing Star Fox Zero for Wii U with the aim of releasing it this year. Although we felt that the development had been progressing well, we now believe that we will need a little more time to work on areas such as the unprecedented discovery that we want players to experience in the game by using two screens, and further polishing the level designs and perfecting the tone of the cut scenes. While we have already reached the stage where it would be technically possible to release the title in time for the year-end holiday season, we want to polish the game a bit more so that players will be able to more smoothly grasp the new style of play that we are proposing.

To the people looking forward to the launch of the game this holiday season, I am very sorry.

Star Fox Zero is going to bring new game play and experiences that take it far beyond the framework established by Star Fox 64. All the members of the development team are doing our best so that the final product will not betray your expectations. And the game will not be delayed for a very long time – we’re aiming to launch the game in Q1 2016. Please stay tuned for further announcements.

It’s unfortunate to see this happen, as many of us have been excited to see the return of Star Fox. The game looks fantastic, but I suppose as Miyamoto himself has said in the past “A delayed game is eventually good, a rushed game is forever bad”. At least this will give us something to look forward to in the new year!

Since the unfortunate passing of Satoru Iwata back in July, there’s been speculation as to who would take lead in the Kyoto-based company. Shigeru Miyamoto and Genyo Takeda had taken over as leaders for Nintendo, but this was only to be temporary, despite many people feeling both had the potential and credibility to properly lead Nintendo, not to mention the charisma and appeal from fans. Today, Nintendo has announced Tatsumi Kimishima as the new President of Nintendo Co.

For those unfamiliar with Tatsumi Kimishima, he had previously been the President of Nintendo of America from 2002-2006, and prior to that was President of Pokémon USA in 2001, so there’s no doubt Kimishima-san certainly has the skills to lead Nintendo and succeed Iwata in a very respectable and admirable way.

It’s still very heartbreaking to think about the untimely passing of Iwata and all of the great things he’s done for the company and remaining optimistic even during its lowest moments, but if there’s any company that knows how to overcome its faults and still deliver smiles and joy to people all around the world, it’s Nintendo.

We wish Tatsumi Kimishima a long and great run as the new President of Nintendo, and we’re excited to see what lies ahead.

The game formerly known as Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem now has an official release date for Japan. Nintendo has just announced that the Wii U exclusive title will be making its way to store shelves on December 26th this year.

The game will come in three different formats: Standard, the “Fortissimo Edition”, and a Wii U bundle. Standard edition gives you just the game for normal retail price, while the Fortissimo Edition will give tons of extra goodies typically found in ATLUS releases — this includes an art book, a soundtrack, codes for costume DLC, as well as a special boxart. The Wii U bundle has everything included in the Fortissimo Edition, plus, of course, the console, added stickers, and DLC for three extra quests. Additionally, those who purchase the Fortissimo Edition or Wii U bundle will be able to obtain tickets for a concert taking place in Japan on May 15.

No official date yet on when Genei Ibun Roku #FE will be coming west, but it is slated for 2016 in Europe and North America.

Below you can find photos on all the contents contained in the aforementioned Genei Ibun Roku #FE editions.
