Nintendo has announced that they will be holding a The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild live stream on Japanese video service NicoNico on December 12th at 9PM JST. The main purpose of this stream seems to be a segment called “Player’s Voice”, during which experiences, stories and adventures by players from their time with Breath of the Wild will be shared. Of course, given the timing of this stream, it’s also possible that this will be the first time we get to see the upcoming Champions’ Ballad DLC, which at the moment still has a fairly vague release window of “December”. It’s not a certainty by any means that this live stream will talk about the DLC in any way, but if they do, you will hear about it from us.

Last week, Nintendo published a video which gave a behind-the-scenes look at the recording of Splatoon 2’s soundtrack, including the voice actresses for Pearl and Marina. Today they posted another video like that today, featuring the in-universe bands ω-3, From Bottom and the Squid Sisters! Or rather, Callie’s and Marie’s voice actresses, Yuki Kudara AKA keity.pop and Mari Kikuma:

A variety of Fire Emblem Heroes news today: first up, a new set of Arena quests are now available. These quests require you to win Arena duels at any difficulty and win a number of consecutive battles in Arena Assault. These quests are available in three difficulty settings (Normal, Hard and Lunatic) and you need to clear the lower difficulty quests first to unlock the higher level ones. The Arena quests reward you with Dueling Crests, Stamina Potions and Orbs while you can get the new Refining Stones from the Arena Assault quests. These quests will be available for the next two weeks.

Next, all players will soon receive 5 Orbs, 50 Refining Stones and 500 Arena Medals. These are being sent out as an apology because some of the weapon descriptions in the new Weapon Refinery are incorrect.

Finally, the December wallpapers have been revealed – they feature that characters that ranked 10th in the Choose Your Legends poll, Leo and Nowi.

Capcom has announced that they will be holding a 30th anniversary Mega Man live stream on December 4th, from 11 AM to 12 PM PST on Twitch. We don’t really have any further details at this moment, other than Capcom’s insistence that “you won’t want to miss it”. The Mega Man franchise hasn’t exactly been booming lately, so it’s quite possible that this event won’t have any gaming-related news at all (or nothing Nintendo-related). In any case, if there are any big announcements during that live stream, you will hear about it from us.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is finally out tomorrow, and it looks like Monolith Soft saved the biggest rare Blade reveal till the end – KOS-MOS Re: from Xenosaga. This likely doesn’t have any real story significance, but it’s a nice nod to the series’ roots nonetheless. KOS-MOS Re: is voiced by Mariko Suzuki, who also voiced her in the Xenosaga games. Similarly, her Blade design was done by Kunihiko Tanaka, who was also the character designer in the Xenosaga games. Below is her summoning sequence:

This week’s issue of Famitsu features a 14-page article on Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which will finally be released this Friday. Included in that article is an interview with director Tetsuya Takahashi and main composer Yasunori Mitsuda. Japanese blog Hachima Kikou has a summary of the interview up on their website, and Perfectly Nintendo has kindly translated that. Here are some key points from the interview:

Dragon Ball Xenoverse’s 2 big new update is now available. Among other things, it adds the new figure-fighting Hero Coliseum mode. Watch the (Japanese) trailer below to get a feel for this new gameplay mode:
