With 2021 coming to a close, Nintendo has revealed the top 30 best-selling games on the Japanese Switch eShop for the year.

It’s Monster Hunter Rise that managed to take the top spot. Among Us was a hit as well, as the game is right behind at #2. The recently-released Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl come in at #3 and #5 respectively.

Noel the Mortal Fate release date

Noel the Mortal Fate now has a release date on Switch. The game will launch on February 10, 2022, Playism, Vaka Game Magazine, and Kawano announced today.

Playism has confirmed that Noel the Mortal Fate will have upgraded elements when it comes to Switch like new illustrations. Fans can also look forward to a new Season 3.5 story.

Fire Emblem Heroes Like Clockwork

Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have announced a new Like Clockwork summoning event for Fire Emblem Heroes, which features special Heroes who have donned elegant kimonos. The 5-star Hero Kyza: Tiger of Fortune will also appear as a Score Reward in the next Tempest Trials+ event.

Like Clockwork features Reginn: Bearing Dawn (voiced by Megan Shipman, art by 8ichibi8), Fafnir: Fresh Ambition (voiced by Griffin Puatu, art by Niji Hayashi), Lyre: Lap Cat of Luxury (voiced by Kelly Baskin, art by kaya8), and Dagr: New Year Jotnar as a duo (voiced by Alejandra Evette + Erika Harlacher, art by cuboon). Reginn has the skills
Nioavellir Lots, Seior Shell, Swift Sparrow 3, and Cross Spur Atk. Fafnir can use Nioavellir Sprig, Glimmer, Atk/Spd Solo 4, Disarm Trap 3, and Rouse Atk/Def 4. As for Lyre, the available skills include Sparkling Fang, Luna, Atk/Spd Catch 3, and Chill Atk/Def 2. Finally, Dagr’s lineup is Jotnar Bow, Luna, Atk/Spd Push 4, Sun-Twin Wing, Atk/Def Rein 3.

Succubus

Madmind Studio, the developer behind Agony, has announced that its new first-person slasher Succubus will be released on Switch. Console Labs will be handling the port.

Succubus has you playing as Vydija, a demonic succubus who’s on a mission to regain her kingdom. Her skills can be used to take revenge on enemies across the campaign’s 21 levels as well as ranked arenas. The game promises 40 weapons and 20 special powers. Attacking can be done with your claws, but also with bone swords, clubs, and other weapons.

Putt-Putt Travels Through Time Freddi Fish 3

A pair of classic point-and-click adventure games will soon be appearing on Switch, as eShop listings have revealed that Putt-Putt Travels Through Time and Freddi Fish 3: The Case of the Stolen Conch Shell are inbound for the console. They were made by Humongous Entertainment in the late ’90s, though UFO Interactive is handling these titles for Nintendo’s system.

Shin Megami Tensei V soundtrack

Original (12/24): Atlus will release the original soundtrack for Shin Megami Tensei V in Japan, the company announced today.

117 tracks will be included, spread out across five CDs. The package also comes with a booklet with commentary on each piece of music.

Pawn of the Dead gameplay

Ahead of its launch on Switch later this week, Pawn of the Dead – a 3D game based on chess – has received new gameplay. Today’s video shows off 19 minutes of footage.

It’s time for the latest Famitsu’s most wanted games chart. This week, Bayonetta 3 is still the top Switch game.

Dragon Quest X Offline delayed

Today, Square Enix has announced that it has delayed the launch of Dragon Quest X Offline in Japan. Originally scheduled for February 26, 2022 in Japan, the RPG has now moved to the summer. A specific date beyond that was not confirmed.

Producer Takuma Shiraishi issued a statement about the situation, explaining that Square Enix is looking to deliver the highest quality experience. The team will be using the extra time for polish. Shiraishi also apologized to those that have been looking forward to the game.
