Darksiders III comparison

A new video has come online that serves as a graphical comparison for Darksiders III on Switch and Xbox One.

It does look like the team behind the Switch port had to make some sacrifices in order to get the game running on the console. We can see changes in things like assets and textures, which have been scaled back on the system.

One of the most important aspects of any game is performance, and while we don’t have much insight into this here, there have been some early reports of inconsistency. Darksiders III aims to hit 30 FPS on Switch, though it can vary depending on where you are and how much is happening on screen. The frame rate can fluctuate above and below that number quite a bit.

What Lies in the Multiverse

Publisher Untold Tales, along with developers Studio Voyager and IguanaBee, have announced What Lies in the Multiverse. The dramatic comedy adventure will be appearing on Switch in early 2022.

The fan session was actually taking place as a way of promoting Bloodstaind: Ritual of the Night, of which Iida was its director. But he also has a long history with the Castlevania series having started out on Lament of Innocence, later Aria of Sorrow, and then the DS entries.

retro studios wii

We all know today that the Wii was one of Nintendo’s most successful consoles, but early on, the system garnered its fair share of doubters and people that were concerned about how it would perform – including Retro Studios.

Bryan Walker, who was with Retro starting with Metroid Prime 2 before going on to be a senior producer on Metroid Prime 3 and then the director on Donkey Kong Country Returns, revealed to Kiki Talkz that the company was “a little concerned” after seeing the console’s specs. It was only after Nintendo unveiled the Wii Remote and saw massive interest during its showing at E3 2006 that the staff at Retro Studios started to understand Nintendo’s approach.
