Flood of Light announced for Switch

Chinese indie studio Irisloft and indie publisher indienova have announced that Flood of Light is coming to Switch.
Floor of Light is a puzzle game in which you control a mysterious girl who arrives at a city that is completely flooded with water. This girl is the only person with the ability to control light, which will be your tool to solve various puzzles, gradually make the water go back and ultimately save the city. As you do so, the true purpose of this girl will be revealed.

Yoshi gets axed from the Smash Bros. Ultimate boxart in Germany due to USK logo

Nintendo shared the gorgeous boxart for Smash Bros. Ultimate this week. It’s mostly the same around the world, though there is one exception from Germany.
For the most part, the packaging design is the same. However, there is one omission: Yoshi. The character is gone here due to a sizable USK rating logo taking up a good deal of the real estate. The logo is where Pikachu would be, but the character has been preserved and moved up slightly while Yoshi was taken off entirely.

Crimson Hexagon has shared an in-depth look at gaming buzz on social media from E3. Between June 10 and June 12 – the key days of the expo – over 4.5 million posts were made across online channels. Nintendo was one of the conversation leaders.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate apparently wasn’t the most-discussed game, but it was certainly up there. Crimson Hexagon’s data has it at #2.

New 2DS XL Animal Crossing Edition revealed for Europe, out next month

A special New 2DS XL bundle has been revealed for Europe. Along with an Animal Crossing design for the system, Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo will be included in the package.
Nintendo hasn’t officially announced the bundle at this time. However, according to Nintendo UK’s website, it will be available on July 20.

Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion made its long-awaited debut this week. It won’t have a retail release, but you can download the new content digitally.
Despite the lack of a physical version, Nintendo is offering a neat reward on My Nintendo. A new printable boxart cover can be redeemed here. It costs just 30 Platinum Points.
