Rumor: Pokemon Gold / Silver on 3DS have data for Pokemon Crystal
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, Rumors | 22 Comments
Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver are the newest releases on the 3DS Virtual Console. However, the third game in the series has been left out. Currently no announcements have been made about bringing Pokemon Crystal to the Virtual Console. Interestingly though, one dataminer says he’s found code that could point to Crystal launching eventually.
Apparently, data was found within a patch in the ROM fileworks for Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver on 3DS. This is the same person who initially leaked the existence of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions, which was eventually announced at E3 earlier in the year.
ahahaha they left the patches for Pokemon Crystal's VC release in the GS VC ROMFS — "CGBBXTJ0.534.patch". Classic.

Ahaha the Pokemon GS VC release title IDs are pretty damn suggestive….https://t.co/nTFeNQZS8k — Gold, Silver, Gap, Gold, Silver, Gap, …
— Michael (@SciresM) September 13, 2017
Maybe Pokemon Crystal will be distributed further down the road? Only time will tell.
Thanks to Roadymike for the tip.

Pokemon GO Plus on iOS 11 having some issues

With Apple releasing iOS 11, compatibility with apps can be a bit wonky. Pokemon GO is one such game affected.
Niantic has acknowledged issues with Pokemon GO Plus on iOS 11. Basically, it amounts to the accessory not registering a button press until after the LED indicator light has flashed three times.
Niantic says it is exploring the situation. When a fix has been issued, we’ll let you know.

Rive runs at 1080p and 60 FPS on Switch, smoother than the PS4 version
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch eShop | 24 Comments
During Rive’s early days of development, Two Tribes intended to bring the game to Wii U. Nintendo even featured the game as part of its Nindies@Home program at E3 a few years ago, allowing system owners to download a demo. Unfortunately, the Wii U version never materialized due to technical issues.
Rive may have missed out on Wii U, but it is coming to Switch. Two Tribes is wrapping up this version of the game and has shared some technical details. Rive will officially run at a 1080p resolution (720p in portable mode) and 60 frames per second. Two Tribes’ Collin van Ginkel also says it’s smoother than the PS4 version.
It’s kind of surreal seeing the game run so smoothly on such a humble device. It was never intended as a portable game, but it’s a perfect fit for it!
We’ve spent a few months really digging into what makes the Switch hardware tick and it now runs smoother than the PlayStation 4 version, with less noticeable save points for instance.
