Articuno to start appearing with Lugia in Pokemon GO immediately, Zapdos and Moltres “soon”
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Mobile, News | 0 comments
We won’t have to wait long for the second Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon GO. While we knew that Articuno would be going out soon, Niantic has confirmed that it will be showing up alongside Lugia immediately. That’s because Team Mystic beat out Team Instinct and Team Valor in catching Pokemon at Pokemon GO Fest earlier today.
As for Zapdos and Moltres, Niantic hasn’t forgotten about them. Both “will also make their way into the real world soon, so stay tuned for more information.”
Lastly, the following rewards will last until Monday at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET.
Double Stardust
Double Candy
Double XP
Increased Pokémon encounters
Reduced hatching distance
Reduced buddy distance

Niantic issues statement on Pokemon GO Fest 2017 issues
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Mobile, News | 18 Comments
The first Pokemon GO Fest has concluded. To say that the event had a few hiccups would probably be an understatement. Most prominently, attendees experienced technical issues for many hours, making it so they were unable to play the game.
Niantic has since issued a statement about the situation. The company apologized to all Trainers who came out for Pokemon GO Fest, and admitted that they “were not able to offer every attendee a great experience” despite eventually fixing “many of the technical issues”. Niantic also recapped how the company is attempting to provide some sort of compensation.
The full statement is as follows:

The Sexy Brutale rated for Switch
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch eShop | 6 Comments
The Sexy Brutale may have a chance of coming to Switch. On July 14, PEGI rated the game for the console.
Classifications don’t always confirm releases, but usually they’re intended to be used in some way. It would be rather strange for The Sexy Brutale to be rated on Switch if Tequila Works doesn’t intend to bring it to the platform, though perhaps it’s a possibility the studio is exploring for the future.

We reached out to Tequila Works earlier this week and asked about the classification, but have thus far not heard back. We’ll let you know if we receive an official comment from the company.

Pokemon GO Fest had all sorts of problems today. In the end though, Niantic is delivering on what many had been interested in from the event: Legendary Pokemon.
All Pokemon GO players who showed up in Chicago for today’s events will be able to receive Lugia in their accounts today. Other players around the world will begin to see Lugia show up in Raid Battles within the next 48 hours.
Niantic also said that Articuno will be the next Pokemon distributed following Lugia.

Target may eventually take pre-orders for the Super NES Classic Edition
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 6 Comments
Update: We’re back to where we were originally, with Target may (or may not) taking pre-orders. The same Twitter account now writes the following:
We expect to carry SNES in stores & online, but we don't have any info regarding pre-orders. For more info visit: https://t.co/IBZUFc1ory.
— AskTarget (@AskTarget) July 22, 2017
Original: Last night, Walmart unexpectedly began taking pre-orders for the Super NES Classic Edition. If you weren’t playing Splatoon 2, perhaps you were lucky enough to get an order in. Reservations were up for about 40 minutes before Walmart pulled the plug.
In one way, this is already a win over the NES Classic Edition. For that hardware, retailers did not take any pre-orders.
Walmart looks to be done at this point. But what about other retailers? Based on one tweet from Target, the store will be taking pre-orders. We don’t know when, however.
Excited about SNES release this fall? Good news! We will have this item & it will be available for pre-orders! Get ready for Classic action.
— AskTarget (@AskTarget) July 22, 2017
Technically this isn’t an official announcement from Target, so we won’t believe it until we see it. If and when Target does open pre-orders, we’ll let you know.

Pokemon GO Fest attendees being offered refunds, $100 of in-game coins
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News | 15 Comments
The first Pokemon GO Fest has not gone smoothly. Due to long lines and connectivity issues, some players have barely been able to accomplish anything at the event.
On the bright side, Niantic is at least trying to make things up to the fans. Those who are at Pokemon GO Fest can receive a refund and $100 of in-game coins.
Niantic is still apparently working through today’s issues. However, the status for some of today’s big events – like the opportunity to catch the first Legendary Pokemon – is unclear at the moment.
Shantae figure will be sold online, pre-orders open
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 1 Comment
The first Shantae figure was sold at Anime Expo earlier this month. Series creator Matt Bozon said that if it sold well, Volks would be more interested in making it available online as well.
Volks now has a pre-order page up for the Shantae figure on its website, so it looks like interest at Anime Expo was very high. Orders placed now will be delivered on August 18. Pricing is set at $75.
You can pre-order the Shantae figure here.

Pokemon GO Fest suffering from long lines and connectivity issues as Niantic CEO gets booed on stage
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Mobile, News | 20 Comments
Remember when Pokemon GO launched last year and the game was hit with massive connection issues? The same problems have returned one year later.
At Pokemon GO Fest, attendees are having to deal with long lines. Connectivity issues are also plaguing players, meaning the game is unplayable for many fans. Adding to it all, some people spent quite a bit of money just to make it to Pokemon GO Fest.
This culminated with Niantic CEO John Hanke getting booed during an introductory speech on stage:

So… this is all a huge mess. We’ll have to see how things play out during the rest of the day.
