Miami qualifying round for the Nintendo World Championships 2017 won’t be rescheduled

Earlier in the month, Nintendo and Best Buy halted the Miami qualifying round for the Nintendo World Championships 2017 due to the threat from Hurricane Irma. Nintendo now has an update on the situation.
Sadly, the qualifying round will not be rescheduled as a result of the hurricane’s “ongoing effects”. Nintendo says that “the two remaining spots in the tournament will instead be filled by selecting the participants from other regions with the best non-qualifying times.” It’s unfortunate, but there’s not much that can be done in this sort of situation.
Steins;Gate Elite seemingly coming to Switch
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 8 Comments
Steins;Gate Elite seems to be on track for Switch. Earlier today, Famitsu posted a small image of an article included in its new issue due out tomorrow. Only PlayStation platforms had been previously been confirmed, but it looks like Switch will be included as well.
Famitsu’s preview only offers a very small look at the opening two-page spread of the article. However, we’re able to see that a red label is included, which is generally reserved for Switch games. Unless Famitsu is messing with us, Steins;Gate Elite will be coming to Switch.
It’s worth noting that SEGA lists Steins;Gate Elite for Switch on its official Tokyo Game Show website. The consensus, however, was that this was a mistake. Famitsu’s latest issue apparently proves that the listing was originally spot on.

Rumor: Method uncovered to access NES Golf on Switch
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Switch | 6 Comments
Some interesting news came about earlier in the summer when it was discovered that Switch systems come with a built-in emulator. Things became even more interesting when fans learned that the NES version of Golf is hidden away within the system’s firmware. An unlock method has allegedly been discovered, but unfortunately, it sounds like most users are going to be left out until 2018.
Above all else, Switch’s cached network time needs to be set to July 11, the day that late Nintendo president Satoru Iwata passed away. This means if you’ve connected your Switch to the internet at all, you’re out of luck since there is no way to revert back to July 11. The date variable for NES Golf only references Switch’s internal, user-specified date if the system has not been connected to the internet.

SEGA aware of Sonic Adventure 3 interest, but will only happen if it can advance the series
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 62 Comments
Sonic fans have long been interested in SEGA creating a new Sonic Adventure game. However, the sub-series hasn’t been touched in many, many years. And based on new comments from Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka, SEGA isn’t in a rush to create Sonic Adventure 3.
In an interview with Polygon, Iizuka explained:
“I hear people saying that they want Adventure 3, but the path that we’re on and … Adventure 3, what fans want that to be, might not be an advancement of the series. So I don’t want to do an Adventure 3 and step the franchise back just to give the fans what they want.”

Flipnote Studio has received a new update, with Nintendo issuing version 1.0.1. It’s largely tied to the new 3DS firmware that went out last night.
