Nintendo – updated message from the president
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 14 Comments
Nintendo updated its investor site with a new message from company president Tatsumi Kimishima. This is actually the first letter from Kimishima aside from the one included in a previous business report.
In his note, Kimishima mainly touches on further making use of Nintendo IP. He (briefly) brings up NX, smart devices, and more. Read the full message below.
Since the launch of the Family Computer System (called Nintendo Entertainment System outside Japan) in 1983, Nintendo has been offering the world unique and original entertainment products under the development concept of hardware and software integration. In the field of home entertainment, the video game industry is one of the few industries established in Japan that spread around the world, and Nintendo has established itself as a well-known brand truly representing video game culture throughout the world.
With the belief in our mission to put smiles on people’s faces around the world through products and services, we have followed our basic strategy of expanding the gaming population by offering products that can be enjoyed by everyone regardless of age, gender or gaming experience. We now want to take this mission a step further by increasing the number of people who have access to Nintendo’s intellectual property (Nintendo IP).

It seems that the 3DS edition also has artwork not featured on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, such as U.S. Mega Man boxes.

Monster Strike sold through 46% of its initial shipment in Japan
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 0 comments
Monster Strike sold 438,000 copies in its first week in Japan. While the game definitely sold quite a bit, it doesn’t tell the full picture. Media Create shares more about how the game performed in its latest report.
Media Create notes that Monster Strike sold through 46.26 percent of its initial shipment. Given the game’s market scale, the sales tracker feels that this is a rather concerning result. Simple calculations of Monster Strike stock in the city (perhaps Tokyo) are estimated at around 500,000 units, so it is needed to observe the sales movement at the upcoming New Year’s holiday.
Aside from Monster Strike, we have one more tidbit about the latest Japanese sales. During the week of December 14, Wii U sold 165.52 percent compared to last week. New 3DS (including XL) was at 128.25 percent week-over-week.
