Two Tribes shares an update about RIVE
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 1 Comment
Two Tribes has provided an update on RIVE, covering the game’s release date and more.
First, RIVE is officially slated for 2016. While Two Tribes hoped to have it ready this year, they’re simply “not done yet” with development.
The studio explained:
“Since moving to a three man team early last year we had to rediscover how to handle things with less man-power. This means a lot of tasks have to be handled sequentially, instead of spread throughout the team. If we need a new trailer, the level designs stall for two weeks. If we decide to attend PAX or EGX with a booth, the entire project is paused for several weeks. It’s frustrating, especially since it means we can’t let you play the final game yet, but it’s our current reality and we are adamant to make RIVE the absolute best game we’ve ever created.”
Head on over to Two Tribes’ website for a breakdown of the latest RIVE screenshots, which also has some information about the story.

Project M closes up shop
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 212 Comments
Fans created Project M, a popular Super Smash Bros. Brawl mod, in hopes of changing the Wii title so that it would line up more closely with Melee. Adjustments were made to the overall gameplay, characters, stages, and more. This has been an ongoing effort since 2011.
Sadly, Project M is no more, and development is finished. A final blog post added to the official website acknowledges that the news “will come as a shock to many of our fans.” It goes on to explain: “We’ve spent six years polishing Project M, and rather than let it drag on through another several years of dwindling development and change-fatigue in the competitive circle, we’re going to consider our work complete.”
Project M was most recently updated during the summer. Version 3.6 came out in late June.
Head past the break for the full farewell message.
Pokemon Picross lets you remove the free-to-play aspect
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, News | 1 Comment
Pokemon Picross has been promoted as a free-to-play/start game. Now that the download has arrived in Japan, some notable information has emerged about this aspect.
Serebii writes that after purchasing all 5,000 Picrites, they can be redeemed from time to time in batches of 1,000. If you max out the Energy Gauge’s level by spending Picrites, the free-to-play element is then removed. Players won’t have to worry about the energy gauge as it is at infinity.
Here are some other Pokemon Picross details from Serebii:
– Mega Evolution stages cost Picrites to access
– Micross puzzles can be found by completing various challenges on a variety of Pokémon
– These are larger puzzles that you unlock pieces for gradually and encompass a much larger image
– There’s a password option that will unlock various secret stages in the game
– 02:16: When you have purchased all 5000 Picrites, you can then redeem free Picrites from time to time in batches of 1000. If you max out the Energy Gauge’s level by spending your Picrites, you then remove the free to play aspect. You no longer have to worry about the energy gauge as it is at infinity
– Mega Evolution stages cost Picrites to access
– A special mode mirroring the standard stages is available later in the game
– This mode repeats puzzles but as Mega Picross style puzzles
