Hideki Kamiya hopes to make Miis available as a hero in “The Wonderful 102”

Hideki Kamiya reflected on the The Wonderful 101’s development on Twitter earlier today. According to the director, PlatinumGames had attempted to make it so players could bring their own Mii into the game as a hero. This is something he hopes can be done in “The Wonderful 102”, he said.
Kamiya’s tweet in full:
We tried to make it possible to join your own mii with TW100 as a hero. We hope we can do it in TW102.

When asked if players would have had the opportunity to choose which Unite Morph their Mii would have used – based on the original idea – Kamiya said:
Could be. RT @MirbyStudios: Would we have been able to choose which Unite Morph our Mii would have used?

Of course, The Wonderful 102 is not a sure-fire thing at this point. The Wonderful 101 hasn’t done particularly well at retail, though Kamiya has previously expressed interest in making a sequel.

Kirby Triple Deluxe outperforms previous three Kirby games in Japan, based on first week sales
Posted on 11 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, DS, News, Wii | 2 Comments
Kirby Triple Deluxe is off to a great start in Japan having sold 214,208 copies in its first week, according to data from Media Create. That figure stacks up extremely favorably to the previous three Kirby games released.
Kirby’s Return to Dreamland comes the closet with first week sales standing in at 136,811 units. Kirby’s Epic Yarn sold only 92,280 copies, and Kirby: Mass Attack only moved 74,915 units in its first few days.
Ultimately, lifetime sales are probably what will end up mattering the most. That being said, Nintendo must be pleased with Kirby Triple Deluxe’s performance so far.
