My Nintendo adds discount vouchers for Nintendo Switch Online NES controllers in Europe

Do you have any extra My Nintendo Gold Points lying around? Do you plan on picking up the new NES controllers for Nintendo Switch Online games? If so, you might be interested to hear about a new offer currently live on My Nintendo in Europe.
The rewards site has added in three different vouchers that can be used to lower the price of the controllers. The values are £1.00, £3.00, and £5.00, which cost 100, 300, and 500 Gold Points respectively. Vouchers can be used to discount the controller price when orders open on the official store.

Update: Perhaps Jim Carrey isn’t pictured after all? IGN’s Amanda Flagg says we’re actually looking at Frank C Turner. If we hear otherwise, we’ll let you know.
Original: Filming of the new Sonic the Hedgehog movie is underway, and we have a new set of photos showing Jim Carrey and James Marsden in their roles. The two are playing Ivo Robotnik / Dr. Eggman and Tom Wachowski (a sarcastic sheriff) respectively.

Nintendo restores the “N” in its logo at headquarters in Japan

Following the recent typhoon in Japan, Nintendo had the logo at its Japanese headquarters disturbed. The “N” was completely knocked off, leaving only “intendo”.
A little over a week later, the Big N’s logo has been restored to its proper glory. As pictured above, the logo now reads as it did previously.

PlatinumGames reportedly came close to working on a new Okami game in recent years

Did You Know Gaming? and Liam Robertson have published a new report on how a true sequel to Okami with many of the original developers nearly took place.
In late 2015, representatives from PlatinumGames and Capcom were said to have started meeting. Founder and former Platinum president Tatsumi Minami was said to be leading the discussions. With Capcom wanting to revive some of its IPs, there was interest in working together between the two sides.

Suda51 says strong Killer7 Steam sales could lead to a Switch port, wants a Travis Touchdown amiibo

Killer7 first debuted on the GameCube way back in 2005. All of these years later, it’s seeing a re-release, though only on Steam at present.
No announcements have been made, but Killer7 may have a chance of appearing on Switch as well. Director Suda51 indicated in an interview with Nintendo Wire that it could happen if the title does well on Steam.

Sonic Mania Adventures production manager briefly teases new animation series, then doesn’t

Although production of the Sonic Mania Adventures series of animated shorts was presumed to have been completed over a month ago, it appears as though a new project might be in the works at SEGA. Confirmation of this may not have come as officially as the company would have liked, however, as the watchful eyes of the internet may have caught the series’ production manager slipping.
During a visit to SEGA’s headquarters yesterday, the production manager shared the Instagram post below with a rather clear indication that a new Sonic animated series is in the works in-house at SEGA.

Several amiibo restocked on the Nintendo UK store

The Nintendo UK store has restocked a number of older amiibo. These include figures from the Pokemon, Mario, and Zelda series, along with Pikachu. All of the available amiibo are located here.

New music at Disney World’s Epcot Play Zone may hint at a Mario Kart appearance in Wreck-It Ralph 2

In the lead up to the release of Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph 2 in theaters this November, the company’s marketing efforts are now turning focus towards the film. As such, attractions and even music are being transitioned over throughout Disney World’s new Play Zone at Epcot to reflect the upcoming release.
While no official confirmation has been made by Nintendo or Disney at this point, the attentive ears of Attractions Magazine on Twitter have caught on video what sounds like a new orchestration of the Super Mario Kart theme playing at the park.
