SEGA has released a new behind-the-scenes video that provides an in-depth look at the creation of the Sonic Mania Adventures animated web short. It features interviews with director Tyson Hesse and Neko Productions’ executive producer Lirit Rosenzweig-Topaz about the 2D animated episodic series development. Watch the video below.

Where’s the last place you’d expect Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime to show up? How about in a Seattle Police Department lip sync challenge? Yes, that has actually happened.

My Nintendo indie game rewards for July 2018 (North America)

Four more indie games have been added to My Nintendo in North America. Members can spend their Gold Points on a new wave of titles for the 3DS and Wii U eShops.
Runbow Pocket (New 3DS), Noitu Love: Devolution (3DS), Severed (3DS), and Freedom Planet (Wii U) make up the latest selection. Everything here is 110 Gold Points, except for Noitu Love: Devolution which is 80.

Falcom on why it decided to support PSP over DS, wants to get closer to Nintendo

Nintendo and Falcom aren’t exactly names that go together. The studio hasn’t done much on Nintendo platforms, which is why it came as a surprise when Ys VIII was announced for Switch earlier this year – courtesy of Nippon Ichi.
In an interview with DenFamiNicoGamer, Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo and founder Masayuki Kato spoke about the misconception that the company hates Nintendo and why it decided to focus on the PSP instead of the DS when the latter system was booming in popularity.
New wave of Super Mario toys available from McDonald’s Happy Meals in the US

Super Mario has returned to McDonald’s in the United States. A new wave of toys are available with Happy Meals, as pictured above.
Several designs are present here, including a toy with Mario and Cappy in which the latter character can be thrown – similar to the action you can perform in Super Mario Odyssey.

Return of Double Dragon – US SNES trailer

Last week, Retroism released Return of Double Dragon. The SNES game, originally from 1992, is the Japanese version of Super Double Dragon, which is now fully playable in English and expanded since its original version.

This time around, from June 30 to August 10, the Switch exclusive Octopath Traveler is heavily featured with all sorts of limited edition merchandise, food and drinks inspired by the game, decorations and art.
