Rumors have been circulating about a restock of the Meta Knight amiibo at Best Buy, and Nintendo confirmed last week that the character would be restocked along with other figures “over the next few days”. Now we may know when that will be taking place.

Best Buy is rumored to be obtaining new Meta Knight amiibo shipments on May 20. However, it won’t be until May 29 until new units begins to appear in stores.

May 29 is certainly turning out to be a big day for amiibo given the release of new Smash Bros. and Splatoon figures. Let’s not forget about silver Mario as well!

The Nintendo UK store is now taking pre-orders for three more amiibo. Consumers can reserve Bowser Jr., Dr. Mario, and Olimar.

Pre-orders are live on the store here. They’re all launching on July 17.

Nintendo has announced that it defeated a patent case in Seattle federal court involving the Wii Balance Board.

Back in May 2013, non-practicing entities Ithaca Ventures and Ithaca Development filed a lawsuit against Nintendo over claims that the Wii Balance Board accessory infringed its patent. Nintendo responded by seeking sanctions for filing a meritless case. After a German court determined that Ithaca’s European patent could not cover the Wii Balance Board and that Ithaca must pay Nintendo’s attorneys’ fees, the case was withdrawn.

Vice President and Deputy General Counsel Richard Medway of Nintendo of America said of today’s news:

Nintendo will vigorously defend its innovations against patent lawsuits, and will not pay to resolve meritless accusations, no matter whether the case is filed in the United States or elsewhere.

Nintendo has confirmed to IGN that president and CEO Satoru Iwata will not be attending E3 2015 this year. However, Shigeru Miyaomto and other developers will be on hand at next month’s expo.

In a statement, Nintendo said:

Nintendo’s focus for E3 this year will be showcasing the many games we have coming for both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. Mr. Miyamoto and other members of our development team will be in Los Angeles to explain these games and the unique experiences that each offers. Mr. Iwata’s focus in this period will be on other areas of our business that require his presence in Japan.

Nintendo also said that Iwata will be in “constant contact” with the away team in Los Angeles. He’ll also be monitoring the reaction to Nintendo’s announcements.

You may recall that Iwata skipped last year’s E3 as well. That was in large part due to health issues he was experiencing at the time.
