Back when Final Fantasy V and VI were in development (you know, in the 90s), planner Takashi Aki was working with Tetsuya Nomura on the RPGs. Aki recently did some cleaning up around his residence and came across a few sketches that were previously unseen.

Aki was kind enough to share the various photos on Twitter – you can find them above.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf was arguably the series’ most successful entry since the original GameCube title. Eventually, Nintendo will be taking what made the 3DS title so enjoyable and applying it to a brand new entry.

According to Katsuya Eguchi, Nintendo has “already started thinking about what to do next” with Animal Crossing. However, Eguchi told EDGE that no set direction has been determined yet.

It’s also worth mentioning that Eguchi wouldn’t confirm which platform the next Animal Crossing will be on. While most anticipate a Wii U release happening eventually, Eguchi stated Nintendo must first settle on which platform to make the next game for.

“We have already started thinking about what to do next, but there is no concrete direction yet. First, we need to decide which hardware to develop a new Animal Crossing for, and then we want to use that hardware and find out what it’s capable of and what kind of features it provides. Then we can start thinking of elements of Animal Crossing and how we can realise them using the hardware. So until we discover these new inventions, we will not decide the direction.”

Most had expected Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 to be this year’s Call of Duty title. That didn’t happen, as Activision ended up revealing Ghosts. But what about the future of the Modern Warfare sub-series?

For now, Infinity Ward doesn’t intend to continue on with Modern Warfare. Community manager Tina Palacios, speaking with OXM, said the following when asked about the similarites between the Ghosts and Modern Warfare title/logo art:

“With the storyline, we knew that we wanted to end the Modern Warfare franchise, and we wanted to go in a new direction. I can say that our focus and only focus is on Ghosts right now as it is, and we have no other plans at this time… when we were creating Ghosts, we really got inspired by Ghost from Modern Warfare 2, just by how he looks.

“It made sense for these soldiers we have in Ghosts who want to hide their identities would have the same masks and face paint. I think it would be safe for me to say that just knowing the characters from our previous games didn’t have a backstory, that’s what really pushed us forward. We thought we need to really establish that.”
