E3 2019 technically starts today with a trio of Nintendo tournaments. The Super Mario Maker 2 Invitational 2019, Splatoon 2 World Championship 2019, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate World Championship 2019 3v3 will all be taking place over the next several hours.

Super Mario Maker 2 gets things started at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET / 7 PM in the UK / 8 PM in Europe. The other two tournaments will follow right after.

We’ve included a live stream below where you’ll be able to watch all three tournaments.

Suda51 recently stopped by MomoCon and hosted an hour-long panel. Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes was discussed in-depth, and it was announced that the game is making its way to new platforms – although that isn’t really relevant here.

What is relevant is that Suda51 also touched on an interesting topic during the panel. We won’t discuss this in-depth here in case we’re encroaching on territory that some feel would be spoiler-related, but something happens in Travis Strikes Again that will be of interest to Killer7 fans. And according to Suda51, what was shown in that game is canon.

Pokemon Detective Pikachu took home another $755,000 on Monday. Although it saw a 66% drop from Sunday and 80% from last Monday, the film is now at $131.645 million. With that, Pokemon Detective Pikachu is now the biggest-grossing video game movie ever in North America.

Tomb Raider previously held that record for 18 years. The movie earned had an unadjusted total of $131.2 million.

Pokemon Detective Pikachu is sitting at a global total of $393.4 million. Given how close it is, the film will be the third video game movie to pass $400 million worldwide, alongside Rampage and Warcraft.

Now that Koji Igarashi has moved on from Konami and created a brand new IP in Bloodstained, one would think that his ties to Castlevania would be over. But perhaps not.

In an interview with Gematsu, Igarashi expressed interest in returning to Castlevania and working on “two episodes that we’ve implied but never finished.” If he were to receive an offer from Konami, Igarashi says he’d be up for working on the franchise again.

The Japanese government’s Official Gazette has provided information on The Pokemon Company’s latest financial results.

For the year ending February 28, net profit rose to $124 million. That provided a 50% increase year-over-year and is the second highest net profit ever for the company. In 2018, net profit came in at roughly $81 million.

This year’s results account for both Pokemon GO and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu / Eevee. Next year should include Pokemon Sword/Shield and licensing contributions from Pokemon Detective Pikachu.
