Story of Seasons producer on the possibility of the series transitioning to consoles
Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 4 Comments
Story of Seasons is known for its strong ties to handhelds. In the future though, perhaps it could migrate to consoles. Producer Yoshifumi Hashimoto is aware of interest in North America in having it happen, and if fans continue to express interest, the developers may “start being more concerned about that.”
Hashimoto said in a recent interview:
So first of all, we get more of the North American fans’ voices that they want this game to go to this console. If we get a lot more feedback like that, maybe we will start being more concerned about that. We choose the platform depending on the number of users on that console. We have younger generations of fans like kids playing Story of Seasons. Kids like to have a handheld system, so we tend to focus on that userbase.
The latest game in the series, Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns hits the 3DS next year.

Posted on 8 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News, Wii U | 21 Comments
PlatinumGames’ Hideki Kamiya has once again commented on the prospects of Bayonetta 3.
Speaking with Polygon, Kamiya noted that the potential project is “actually something I’ve been thinking a lot about.” Moreover, PlatinumGames as a whole has “talked a lot about it internally” with Kamiya having even come up with some outlines about the type of game it’d be.
Kamiya said:
“To answer your question straightly, yes. It’s actually something I’ve been thinking a lot about. We’ve talked a lot about it internally at the company and I’ve written some outlines for what the game would be. And I feel really confident it would be cool if we got the chance to make it. Right now, we’re looking at opportunities… If that opportunity ever came up to make Bayonetta 3, that would be really, really cool.”
This marks the second time we’ve heard from Kamiya about Bayonetta 3 within the week. He recently said that Platinum wants to make the title, and Kamiya has personal interest in a new Okami game as well.

Toys-to-life remains a “large and important category” for Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. is still pushing forward with toys-to-life. Just recently, the company announced a whole bunch of content coming to LEGO Dimensions, including Sonic, Adventure Time, and more.
WB Games president David Haddad said of the company’s commitment to toys-to-life:
“We still view [toys to life] as a large and important category for us to participate in. We still view it, even though there are changes to the structure of the industry, as a very large category.”
Regarding year two of LEGO Dimensions, Haddad mentioned that Warner Bros. is “staying away from dead-ends and barriers.” Consumers won’t need to pick up a new Starter Pack, and all of the new packs coming out are compatible with the original game.
