PlatinumGames Takao Yamane

Famitsu is reporting that Takao Yamane has joined PlatinumGames. Although he’s not a name that immediately comes to mind when thinking of Nintendo, he spent nearly thirty years with the company.

Yamane started out as vice president of Nintendo France SARL, which he held for eight years. After that he spent over eighteen years as Nintendo of Europe’s managing director of sales planning and strategy. He closed out his run as general manager of the licensing department at Nintendo Co., Ltd.

Build-A-Bear Pikachu 25th anniversary

Pikachu has been featured at Build-A-Bear previously, but two new variations have just appeared. There’s a male one with a winking face and another that’s specifically female.

Both are being offered in celebration of Build-A-Bear celebrating its 25th anniversary. Pikachu was specifically chosen as it was the first Pokemon sold by the retailer.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes memo pad

A new reward has just been added to My Nintendo in celebration of Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, with members now being able to spend their points on a memo pad. It has 48 pages and measures 8.5″ x 5.5″.

Nintendo has just announced their plans to acquire Dynamo Pictures, a Japanese company which focuses on visual content production. The acquisition is expected to close on October 3, 2022, and upon closing Nintendo expects to change its name to “Nintendo Picture Co., Ltd” in an effort to “focus on development of visual content utilizing Nintendo IP”.

Devon Pritchard Nintendo of America

Today, Nintendo of America named Devon Pritchard as the company’s new executive vice president of sales, marketing and communications. This follows her tenure as the acting executive in that role since November 2021.

Pritchard has been with Nintendo of America for 16 years. She previously served as executive vice president of business affairs and publisher relations. More recently, Pritchard oversaw major Switch game launches, including Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and Nintendo Switch Sports. She’ll now oversee strategy and execution across the U.S. and Canada.

Thanatos Nendoroid Hades

Earlier this year, it was announced that a new Nendoroid was in production based on Thanatos from Hades. Good Smile has now followed up with additional information, including a release date.

Thanatos comes with two face plates. Along with a standard face, a smiling face is included as well. Buyers will also receive optional parts, including a scythe, the Pierced Butterfly keepsake, and Mort. It measures roughly 100mm in height and is sculpted by POLY-TOYS.

Klonoa Nendoroid

A new Nendoroid figure has been revealed, with the latest design featuring Klonoa. Currently we have a look at it in prototype form – check it out above. Max Factory shared the news on social media.

As fans will notice, Klonoa isn’t alone. It looks like he’ll be accompanied by Huepow, Klonoa’s best friend and the Prince of Cress.

E3 2023 ReedPop

Today, the Entertainment Software Association announced that E3 2023 will be run by ReedPop. ReedPop has handled PAX, EGX, Star Wars Celebration, and New York Comic Con.

The ESA and ReedPop are planning E3 2023 for the second week of June at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Along with digital showcases, in-person components are planned, which will be open to fans. Media registration will open later in the year.
