While it’s not much of a surprise, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has confirmed that Nintendo will continue pursuing the idea of integrated hardware-software products. In other words, we’ll be seeing something in the future that follows the Switch.

Furukawa spoke about Nintendo’s future outlook during a financial results briefing, also stressing the importance of Nintendo Accounts and using them to “maintain a positive, lasting relationship with consumers”.

Over 32 million members have subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online, Nintendo has confirmed. President Shuntaro Furukawa delivered that news during a financial results briefing today.

Additionally, Furukawa reiterated that the company “will continue to improve and expand both Nintendo Switch Online and Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, striving to provide services that satisfy consumers.”

Furukawa stated out by highlighting the different ways that the system can be played before talking about the OLED model, which is doing well so far. Some are replacing their older devices while others are jumping in for the first time. Finally, Nintendo will be releasing big games in 2022 such as Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. Switch has also seen an all-time high for third-party games on a Nintendo platform as there are over 6,700 games from these publishers through September 2021.

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has discussed the age of annual playing users on Switch. This comes as part of a briefing that was held for the company’s financial results today.

Furukawa started out by showing the graph above, “which is quite varied” and shows “diversity in the frequency of gameplay and the number of titles purchased.” We also see that “consumers continue to play Nintendo Switch in ways that fit their lifestyle.”

As shown above, there’s been a steady rise since the console first launched in 2017. Last year climbed to its highest point. For this year, Nintendo is on track to set another record.

Nintendo Osaka

Nintendo Osaka will open as a new store in Japan, Nintendo has announced. It will be hosed at Daimaru Umeda starting at the end of 2022. More information will be shared in the future.

The company’s only store in the United States, Nintendo NY, opened in 2005. It actually began as The Pokemon Center in 2001 before it was remodeled into a proper Nintendo store and was known as Nintendo World. It was later renamed Nintendo New York in 2016.


Nintendo has gone live with a new overview trailer for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl. Additionally, we’ve got a couple of Japanese commercials as well.
