pikmin future

In a new video we’re sharing today, we’re thinking about the future of Pikmin.

At this point, the series has been around for a couple of decades. For some reason though, it doesn’t feel like it and Pikmin still feels fresh to me – maybe because there are only three mainline games (a number that Splatoon is already reaching in seven years). Nintendo seems to be very fond of the IP, promoting it outside of the main games with animations, a 3D spin-off, and now the recently-released mobile title Pikmin Bloom.

With all of this in mind, in today’s video, I decided to talk about the current situation of the series: eight years without a new game, a lot of reports about a “Pikmin 4”, a recent port of Pikmin 3 for the Switch, and now a new mobile game. What do you think lies ahead for the future of the Pikmin series? Watch the video below and share your opinion in the comments.

The Binding of Isaac Repentance release date

The Binding of Isaac: Repentance has received a release date, with Nicalis today announcing that the game will be available on Switch in just a couple of days – specifically November 4. Note that this date only applies for North America, though the European launch is happening soon.

The Binding of Isaac: Repentance “takes the Binding of Isaac to new heights with an extraordinary amount of new and updated content.” It contains new items, new playable characters, new bosses, new challenges, and other secret surprises.

Redout Space Assault physical

A physical release of Redout: Space Assault is on the way, Limited Run Games has announced. The company is teaming up with 34BigThings on the release.

Redout: Space Assault originally launched on Switch about a year ago, though it was only available digitally at the time. This is the first opportunity to pick up a physical copy.

Publisher Top Hat Studios along with developer Yongjustyong have announced that Gunkid 99, a 2D arena shooter, is about to make an appearance on Switch. The game is set for a digital release next week.

Rather than focusing on your enemies, the goal in Gunkid 99 is to collect guns when the timer is ticking. The primary goal in the game is to earn as high a score as you can by collecting weapon drops throughout a run.

Kingdom Two Crowns Norse Lands

Today, publisher Raw Fury and developer Stumpy Squid announced Kingdom Two Crowns: Norse Lands, the first premium DLC for the game. It will go live for Switch on November 16.

Kingdom Two Crowns: Norse Lands, which is inspired by Norse culture and mythology, features a new campaign with a brand-new setting and unique challenges. Players will establish and defend a kingdom, explore the world, conquer, and unleash abilities drawn upon from Norse gods. They’ll have to solve challenging puzzles, build Viking-inspired armaments, and command Norse units in order to take on a new and powerful enemy.
