Hamster is bringing Nova 2001 to Switch this week as the system’s latest Arcade Archives game, the company has confirmed. A worldwide release is planned for July 29.

Nova 2001 originally released in 1984 by Universal. It’s a horizontal shooter in which the player controls a ship that can shoot enemies in 8 directions.

Arcade Archives Nova 2001 will cost $7.99 / €6.99 / £6.29 on the Switch eShop.

The top-down magical shooter Trigger Witch has received a gameplay feature of its first 25 minutes. This gameplay includes the opening of the game, some of its story events, and a ton of combat – so check out the full video below.

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online app has received its latest update. Version 2.4.0 includes Claymates, Jelly Boy, and Bombuzal.

Gemini Arms has received an update (version 1.1.1) fixing a bug found in the last version. This bug was where the player’s score was not recorded after completing the final stage.

This update fixes this issue and is now live worldwide.

Ullr: The Bowmaster is joining Fire Emblem Heroes as the game’s next Mythic Hero, Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have announced. The character originates from Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War.

The same event will let players summon previously released 5-star New Heroes, Legendary Heroes, and Mythic Heroes.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania

In a brief message today, the official Twitter account for Super Monkey Ball shared more information about the Switch version of Banana Mania.

First up, the game is confirmed to run at 60 frames per second. That was likely after we saw the most recent trailer on Nintendo’s YouTube account, but it’s nice to have the confirmation. We can also say that gyroscopic controls will be supported.

Earth Defense Force 2017

The Switch version of Earth Defense Force 2017 – otherwise known as Earth Defense Force 3 – now has a release date in Japan. It’ll launch on October 14, according to a Famitsu report.

Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space just released for Switch in Japan. D3Publisher made it available on July 15.

Thus far, there’s no word on whether we’ll be getting Earth Defense Force 2017 or Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space on Switch outside of Japan.

Dr. Mario World will soon be no more. Nintendo is shutting down service on November 1, the company just announced.

Dr. Mario World first launched in July 2019.
