Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin - Kayna

Capcom has shared a new trailer for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin focusing on Kayna, a Rider from Mahana Village.

Here’s an introduction to the character:

Nintendo closed out its 81st Annual General Meeting of Shareholders last week by tackling a question regarding classic products. One investor asked if there are future plans for a mini series like the NES and SNES Classic Editions or other online content.

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa responded with the following:

Nintendo Switch

There have been fairly regular reports claiming that Nintendo has a new Switch model in the works, but at least thus far, nothing has materialized. The latest rumor came from Bloomberg, with the outlet claiming at the end of May that a reveal could have taken place right before E3 2021. Of course, that didn’t happen in the end.

The topic of a new Switch model did come up during Nintendo’s Annual General Meeting of Shareholders last week. President Shuntaro Furukawa was asked about these reports, to which he stated:

Ring Fit Adventure

Ring Fit Adventure has undoubtedly been one of Nintendo’s breakout hits of the Switch era. Not only has the title generated global interest, but it has also sold over seven million copies. It makes sense then that many are hoping that there will be more to come from the concept.

During Nintendo’s 81st Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, an investor actually asked if there are plans for a sequel. President Shuntaro Furukawa responded, and did that the company “would like to take various initiatives so many people continue to play this title.”

Nintendo Switch Online

Nintendo Switch Online has been going for three years strong. We’ve seen the introduction of classic games on the console, new titles like Tetris 99, and opportunities to try out certain titles through Game Trials.

The SNES library started up on Switch Online in 2019. Since then though, the lineup of classics has been a bit static. Some have hoped that Nintendo could expand the offerings with N64 or Game Boy games.

Nintendo and esports tend to come up quite often. Although the company hosts tournaments from time to time, it hasn’t fully embraced the competitive scene.

During Nintendo’s Annual General Meeting of Shareholders last week, president Shuntaro Furukawa was asked about Nintendo’s plans for esports moving forward. He did acknowledge that competition can help to “share the gameplay experience with a broader audience” while also continuing to generate interest for games/characters. More tournaments will be held in the future, but there’s currently no word on specifics.

Furukawa said:

During Nintendo’s 81st Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, one investor brought up media reports that say the company’s games don’t appear to fully take gender into account.

President Shuntaro Furukawa responded, mentioning how Nintendo feels “that diversity, including gender diversity, is very important.” He added that in terms of features for a particular game, “we must make decisions by taking into consideration a wide variety of factors, and we may not always be able to meet every request.”

Nintendo’s Annual General Meeting of Shareholders tend to feature business-related questions, but one person attending the event decided to bring up a more easygoing subject. All of Nintendo’s director candidates were asked to discuss their favorite games.

We get to hear from all of the important figures at Nintendo here, including president Shuntaro Furukawa and Shigeru Miyamoto. Their full comments are posted below.

Chris Meledandri

Back in May, Chris Meledandri was nominated as a new outside director at Nintendo. He was then officially approved last week with a vote of 99.31 percent.

Meledandri’s addition to Nintendo may seem surprising to some. He’s the CEO over at Illumination – the studio behind the films Despicable Me and Minions.

During Nintendo’s 81st Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, president Shuntaro Furukawa and representative director/fellow Shigeru Miyamoto both weighed in on what Meledandri brings to the table. Read up on their comments below.
