We’ve seen a number of impressive Switch ports over the past year such as Doom. On the other end of the spectrum, WWE 2K18 is proably the biggest disappointment. Digital Foundry has explored the Switch version in detail and unfortunately, even after patches, it’s a rather big mess.

WWE 2K18’s frame rate on Switch just isn’t up to snuff. When the frame rate dips, the whole game as a whole slows down. That can cause problems for audio since you may hear a character speak, only to see his lips finally move a few seconds later – so things are out of sync.

Next week, Merge Games and Painted Black Games will be putting The Long Reach on Switch. You can see the game in action via the video below.

Atlus is finally bringing The Alliance Alive to North America and Europe this month. If you plan on picking up the game digitally, you’ll need 13,061 blocks of free space. In other words, that’s 1.56GB.

Fire Emblem Heroes

Fire Emblem Heroes updated last night with new story maps. Get a look at some footage from Book II: The True Quarry below.

Naughty Dog originally worked on the Crash games for the PlayStation many years ago. For Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, some Easter eggs were included that paid respect to the studio.

A few different references were in the collection, such as a Naughty Dog sticker and a picture of Nathan Drake from the Uncharted series. Now that Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is coming to Switch, it seems that these Easter eggs have been removed (and on other platforms as well).

Milky Tea, developer of next week’s eShop release Coffin Dodgers, has confirmed that HyperBrawl Tournament is in the works for Switch. It’s listed for an early 2018 launch, so it shouldn’t be too far off.

HyperBrawl Tournament is an arena based sports combat game that mixes sporting action and competitive player-versus-player combat. We have more details and a trailer below.

The Sexy Brutale has received yet another update on Switch, bringing the game to version 1.0.5. The latest patch finally brings significant improvements to the table. Among other things, resolution has been increased for both docked and portable play.

Tequilla Works isn’t finished with the Switch version of The Sexy Brutale. The team is now looking to improve loading times, which should be addressed in a future update.

Over in Europe, a demo for Detective Pikachu has been made available. Check out some footage in the video below.

Switch’s video apps are fairly limited at the moment. Aside from Hulu and Niconico, there isn’t much to choose from.

One service that has been noticeably absent is Netflix. During a press Q&A panel in Silicon Valley, Netflix vice president of device partner ecosystem Scott Mirer was asked about supporting Switch.

Nintendo Switch

Nintendo’s maintenance schedule for next week isn’t looking quite as busy as the past few days (at least not yet), but a few early sessions have been scheduled. Maintenance for Switch, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, and more is planned.
