New 3DS push guards releasing in Japan tomorrow
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in New Nintendo 3DS, News | 17 Comments
Unlike older 3DS models, the New 3DS has moved the game slot to the bottom of the system. This can unfortunately lead to some accidental removal of cartridges.
Cyber Gadget is at least releasing a new accessory in Japan tomorrow to prevent such situations. The push guards pictured above cost about 1,200 yen each.

New speedrunning record set for Super Mario World
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 4 Comments
Speedrunner “SethBling” has managed to set a new world record for Super Mario World by taking advantage of a glitch.
SethBling completed the game in four minutes, forty nine seconds. “Jeffw356”, the previous record holder, finished Super Mario World in four minutes, fifty-nine seconds.
As far as the glitch goes… just watch the video above. It’s a bunch of craziness.

GameStop memo says latest amiibo will be distributed in waves
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 4 Comments
Keeping track of amiibo launches can be tricky. Release dates are far from exact, so it can be tough to judge when new amiibo are coming to stores.
In the case of GameStop, the latest amiibo will be distributed in waves. Bowser is coming on February 6, followed by Sheik, Shulk, Toon Link, Ike, and King Dedede on February 13. Mega Man and Sonic close things out on February 20.
It should be noted that GameStop’s dates are estimated – meaning figures could technically arrive a bit sooner and later. Once a store receives stock, they can sell it immediately. This may very well be the case with other retailers as well.
Moon Chronicles’ remaining episodes slated for February 5
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS eShop, News | 2 Comments
Moon Chronicles’ next three episodes have now been approved by Nintendo, and are on track to launch on February 5. That’s according to new tweets from Renegade Kid co-founder Jools Watsham.
Those who have the first Moon Chronicles episode will be able to purchase a $9 season pass for the remaining three. An update will be distributed for episode one that makes buying DLC possible.
I just got an email from NOA. @moonchronicles has been approved! Hooray!! It's looking like a release date of 2/5 for all 3 episodes. 🙂
— Jools Watsham (@JoolsWatsham) January 22, 2015
Season Pass for @moonchronicles will be $9. You get all 3 remaining episodes (2, 3 & 4). Must update episode 1 to be able to buy DLC.
— Jools Watsham (@JoolsWatsham) January 22, 2015
.@rcmadiax Episodes of @moonchronicles are purchased from within the game – not on the eShop (after you update/purchase Episode 1).

Izle heading to Wii U in 2016
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U eShop | 4 Comments
Area Effect has announced “Izle”, the studio’s new 3D action-adventure game for Wii U and other gaming platforms.
Here’s the official overview:
Izle invites its players to build their own world by summoning the power of the gods and terraforming a variety of islands. Each unique island is randomly created and ready for players to explore, harness abilities and forge items into endless possibilities to create new character classes. Izle is currently in its Alpha stage.
Developed and published by Area Effect, a studio made up of Ubisoft veterans, Izle players will use terraforming to build their own unique island worlds. Players will acquire new items and abilities and combine them into endless possibilities to create their very own class. But with great freedom comes great responsibility, and if not defended, the kingdom will be shattered by the forces of shadows!
Area Effect founder Alexis Bacot said of today’s announcement:
“Izle is truly a passion project for us, and we are so proud of the reaction we have received at its early stages. Izle is a very ambitious project that we are excited to see come to life as our development continues and as the Izle community grows and flourishes.”
A Kickstarter for Izle will launch this spring “to support the development of the Steam and Next Gen Console versions.” Whether or not this includes Wii U funding is unclear.
Izle will be available sometime in 2016 via the eShop.
