During the week of June 16, Pokemon Art Academy launched in Japan. While it only moved 31,080 copies, the game sold through 70.11 percent of its initial shipment.

Pokemon Art Academy actually could have sold even more if not for a recent Nintendo promotion. The title was made free (starting this month and lasting through the end of July) as part of Nintendo’s Recommended Monthly Software Campaign. You also have to consider that overall sales slowed during the week due to it being the week before payday.

If you pre-order Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley at GameStop, you’ll be provided with a special bonus. The retailer is giving out a plush dog when the game launches. This offer is valid both in-store and online.

This isn’t a completely brand new Super Smash Bros. for 3DS trailer, but it appears to be a new arrangement. There are a few new gameplay scenes/snippets in there – like the brief Steel Diver bit.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3DS boxart

Activision has announced another new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game for 3DS, developed by Magic Pockets. It will be available on August 8, in time for the release of Paramount Pictures’ film of the same name.

Here’s an official overview:

Mad genius Baxter Stockman’s mutant and robotic horrors have teamed up with the shadowy armies of the Foot Clan to terrorize New York City, and only Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo and Donatello can protect its subways, sewers, rooftops and streets from their devastating campaign.

This Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles title is a third-person action game with fast-moving hack-and-slash gameplay. Players will be able to swap between the four main characters at any time. Each turtle has its own strengths and skills based on their personality, ranging from Mikey’s speed to Raph’s brute force. The game also lets players evolve in power over time by gaining new levels, abilities and stat points. New weapons can be crafted back at the Turtle’s Lair from raw materials collected throughout the adventure.

The Japanese version of Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal World Duel Carnival features 40 playable characters. In the localized edition, there are only 12:

– Yuma
– Astral
– ZEXAL
– Tori
– Reginald
– Kite
– Dr. Faker
– Vetrix
– Trey
– Quattro
– Alito
– Konami-kun (aka Hat Guy)

Finally, all mats and sleeves are automatically unlocked in the game from the get go.
