Kimishima: More unannounced games on the way that will boost Switch sales

The Wall Street Journal reporter Takashi Mochizuki is sharing a new comment made by Tatsumi Kimishima. During the company’s financial results briefing today, Nintendo’s president said that “more unannounced titles” are planned that should boost Switch hardware sales.
E3 2017, which is less than two months away, is where Nintendo should be making new announcements for Switch. We should also be hearing about previously-announced games such as Super Mario Odyssey.

EDGE has a big feature on ARMS this month. Switch’s upcoming game is on the cover of the magazine, and also has several pages of coverage.
Producer Kosuke Yabuki, art director Masaaki Ishikawa, and design director Shintaro Jikumaru shared some comments about ARMS as well. Between the three, they talked a bit about the game’s origins, making it balanced (including a special tool used), trying to have it be accessible yet also deep, and other topics as well.

ARMS is on the cover of EDGE magazine #306

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild recently graced the cover of EDGE magazine, and another first-party Nintendo game will soon follow in its tracks. ARMS will be on the cover of EDGE magazine issue #306 with the caption “Nintendo’s stunning new fighting game lands the killer blow for Switch”. Sounds like the magazine’s editors have pretty high hopes for the game. If you’re a subscriber, by the way, you will instead get this exclusive cover art of Spring Man getting punched in the face:

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Taishi was announced for Switch this week. Today, Koei Tecmo launched the game’s official website (in Japanese). There’s not that much to find there at the moment, but you can look at some screenshots and artwork.
Fire Emblem Heroes downloads less than a tenth of Super Mario Run, but seeing more revenue

Super Mario Run has been downloaded nearly 150 million times. Fire Emblem Heroes’ downloads are less than a tenth of that, but the two games have an inverse relationship with revenue. According to Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima, Fire Emblem Heroes is earning more revenue than Super Mario Run.

Super Mario Run has been downloaded almost 150 million times, Nintendo has confirmed. That number applies to downloads across iOS and Android.
Super Mario Run accumulated 78 million downloads by the end of January. The game launched on Android last month, so that likely gave it a shot in the arm.
