Joe Zieja on voicing Fox McCloud, working with Nintendo
Posted on 9 years ago by Zack in Wii U | 12 Comments
In a recent Nintendo Life interview with Joe Zieja, the voice of Fox McCloud in Star Fox Zero – The Battle Begins, we got to hear what it’s like working with Nintendo as a voice actor.
On what it was like auditioning for the part, and the realization that he would be voicing none other than Fox McCloud himself, Zieja said:
I auditioned for a code-named project and had absolutely no idea what it was. I didn’t even know it was anything big. The specs just described what they were looking for and asked that only talent in the LA area audition, so I did. I didn’t hear about it for weeks (and I do so many auditions a day that my mental health demands I fire-and-forget). Then one Saturday I get an NDA from Nintendo, and I think “oh, cool. I probably got Shopkeeper #5 in something or other.” Then the next email came with Fox’s picture on it and I lost my mind.

Another Wii U eShop game has received a release date in Europe. 140 from Limbo lead designer Jeppe Carlsen is slated for September 8. It will carry a €7.99 price point.
We have the following overview:
“Created by Jeppe Carlsen (Lead puzzle designer, LIMBO) with Music by Jakob Schmid, 140 is a challenging minimalistic platformer with abstract colorful graphics. The game requires rhythmic awareness to overcome obstacles which are controlled by an energetic, yet melancholic electronic soundtrack!

Horii gives an update on Dragon Quest XI, confirms Spell of Restoration and casino
Posted on 9 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Switch | 2 Comments
Dragon Quest series creator Yuji Horii appeared at CEDEC 2016 today, and while giving a presentation, shared an update on Dragon Quest XI.
Development on the RPG’s scenario is now full complete. Currently, Square Enix is implementing maps, scenarios, and other such elements. It’s now at the stage where you can get an impression of them, but the details are still being filled out.
Yesterday, Horii met with Square Enix’s Yosuke Saito for a five-to-six-hour business meeting. The check of an episode took three hours, and various other ideas came into discussion. The response speed of the 3DS’ 3D mode was specifically being checked, which will be applied to the 3DS version’s 2D mode and PlayStation 4 version. Battle checks were also done for the PlayStation 4 (and NX?) version.
Finally, Horii officially confirmed that Dragon Quest XI will have the “Spell of Restoration”, which was used during the series’ early days as a password save system. In the new game, it’s a very “30th anniversary-ish thing,” Horii said. Horii also said that Dragon Quest XI will be including a casino.
