Switch sales seventh year

Original: Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has weighed in on he current state of Switch and has said that there won’t be any new hardware this fiscal year.

Switch is currently in its seventh year, which doesn’t exactly happen often for Nintendo platforms. There are many folks out there itching for a new system, but it sounds like there won’t be anything coming in the immediate future.

As part of Nintendo’s latest financial results for May 2023, the company’s latest release schedule has been provided. Fans can get another overview as to what’s planned for Switch from a first and third-party respective.

Currently things are looking a bit barren – this might be the least amount of titles we’ve seen scheduled for Switch in one of these reports. Outside of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (launching this Friday), Pikmin 4, and Metroid Prime 4, nothing else is on the docket. However, given Switch is towards the end of its lifecycle and how Nintendo doesn’t announce games in its financials these days, perhaps that’s not overly surprising.

Nintendo million sellers May 2023

Going along with Nintendo’s latest financial results, we have an updated list of million sellers on Switch

A few new games appear on the list for the first time – specifically Fire Emblem Engage, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, and Metroid Prime Remastered. All of these titles managed to sell over one million copies.

SD Gundam Battle Alliance update 1.40

Bandai Namco has announced a new version 1.40 update for SD Gundam Battle Alliance that will be going live very soon. 

The update is highlighted by support for new paid DLC, Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury Pack. Several other fixes are also planned.

Switch update 16.0.3

It’s time for the latest Switch firmware update, as Nintendo just started distribution of version 16.0.3. However, there aren’t a whole lot of surprises here.

Nintendo’s patch notes are similar to what we’ve seen for Switch firmware updates as of late. Again, the company says stability improvements are the focus.

Space Gladiators gameplay

A new round of gameplay is in for the Switch version of Space Gladiators. Following its recent announcement, it was added to the eShop just a few days ago.

La-Mulana 2 The Tower of Oannes update

NIS America has announced that it just released a new update for La-Mulana 2 on Switch known as “The Tower of Oannes”. While it’s paid content on PC, it’s apparently available on consoles at no extra cost.

The Tower of Oannes includes a new level and features over eight hours of gameplay. A more detailed overview can be found below.

Mini Motorways Miniversary update

Dinosaur Polo Club has revealed a new “Miniversary” update for Mini Motorways. It’ll go live for Switch on July 24, 2023.

Terracotta release date

The Switch version of Terracotta has been given a final release date. It’ll launch on May 25, publisher Freedom Games and developer Appnormals Team confirmed today.

Terracotta is hitting Switch later than expected. After we initially heard that it would be available last October, it was bumped to Q1 2023. Later on, it was given a March date. That window was missed as well, but the game is now only a few weeks out.
