Doom Eternal

Panic Button has helped bring a slew of different titles to Switch, but the studio just wrapped up what it says was the team’s most difficult port yet. Doom Eternal is finally coming to Switch, though it certainly wasn’t an easy task to get the game running.

Senior producer Cody Nicewarner and lead engineer Travis Archer at Panic Button recently chatted with Nintendo Everything about the Switch version of Doom Eternal. As part of that, we were able to learn more about the challenges involved during development. Nicewarner and Archer also commented on the Switch version’s frame rate / resolution, plans for DLC, and more.

Maglam Lord

D3 Publisher and Felistella have provided an update on Maglam Lord, the upcoming action-RPG for Switch. This week, the two sides provided an update on the DG Gauge and weapon decoration feature.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

A couple of weeks ago, we translated a short developer interview for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity published in Famitsu. Since then, the Japanese magazine actually shared a follow-up discussion that is significantly more in-depth.

The interview again featured producer Yosuke Hayashi and director Ryouta Matsushita as well as Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma. The three developers talked about various topics such as the Zelda team’s supervision, making the story, incorporating Breath of the Wild elements (like the graphics and gameplay elements), and much more. We’ve once again prepared a full translation, which you can read below.

Splatoon 2 North American Open December 2020

The Splatoon 2 North American Open December 2020 is taking place this weekend. Originally, Nintendo intended to host an official live stream for the finals, which are set to take place tomorrow. That will no longer be happening.

The situation seems to be a continuation of what transpired last month with Super Smash Bros. Melee. The Big House, a prominent tournament, was forced to scrap its online event following a cease desist from Nintendo. The company said the tournament would have required “use of illegally copied versions of the game” and a mod known as “Slippi”.

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin

Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin received a new patch this week, bringing the game to version 1.03. The update is mostly intended to fix a few issues.

Below are the full patch notes as translated by Nintendo Everything:

Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise

Another exercise game has joined the Switch lineup in the form of Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise. Have a look at some footage below.

Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise is out now on Switch both physically and digitally.

Doom Eternal

If everything had gone as planned, Doom Eternal would have launched on Switch a year ago. The game was originally planned for release on all platforms in November 2019. It was pushed to March 2020 on most systems, but the Switch version has long been missing in action. Now after a lengthy wait, it’s almost here and is scheduled for December 8.

We recently had the chance to speak with senior producer Cody Nicewarner and lead engineer Travis Archer at Panic Button about the new Switch version of Doom Eternal. When asked why the port took longer than some may have been expected, the two developers said:

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was updated this week to version 1.18. Bloodless as a new playable character is the main highlight, though there are also a number of fixes for Randomizer and more.

Doom Eternal

Bethesda has shared a number of screenshots from the Switch version of Doom Eternal, which arrives in just a few days. Check out the full set below.

Doom Eternal is slated for December 8 on Switch via the eShop – no physical version is planned. Find more information as part of a recently-released official FAQ here.

Drawn to Life: Two Realms

The Drawn to Life franchise received a number of games during the Wii and DS days, but it’s been largely dormant over the past few years. Now, however, 505 Games and Digital Continue are bringing the IP back with a brand new entry titled Two Realms.

Digital Continue founder Joseph Tringali, who has served as an executive producer on the previous Drawn to Life games, recently spoke with us about the new title for Switch and the series in general. We asked about the possibility of past entries appearing on Nintendo’s current console, to which he said that’s something he’d be interested in. Fans should also be happy to hear that Tringali hopes to create a bigger sequel one day if Two Realms turns out to be a success.

Tringali told Nintendo Everything:
