Switch

A short while ago, Ubisoft announced that Child of Light and Valiant Heart are coming to Switch. The company has since put out an official notice with details on what fans can expect from the Switch releases.

Here’s the full PR:

Coinciding with Simon and Richter Belmont’s inclusion in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, a new Dracula’s Castle stage will be included. Players can expect to see many enemies from the Castlevania series here, including Death, Carmilla, and more.

One of these monsters were kept a secret. However, fans have quickly pieced together the likely participant.

NIS America readied a new SNK 40th Anniversary Collection trailer. Watch it below for a look at Ikari Warriors, Victory Road, and Ikari III.

Today’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct was packed full of information and first looks. During the presentation, director Masahiro Sakurai gave a first look at the menu screen. However, one option was blurred out.

One fan may have pieced together what the mode is – well, its name at least. If you’re interested in what it appears to be, continue on below.

Yesterday, The Liar Princess And The Blind Prince was announced for the west. It turns out that the new Storybook Edition won’t be exclusive to NIS America’s store. Amazon has opened pre-orders here.

Update: Other sites have started transcribing Horii’s comments, so we’ve added them in below.

Original: Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii provided an update on the Switch version of Dragon Quest XI today. During the “Let’s all get excited! Live Recording from Back Stage at the Dragon Quest XI Concert” program, Horii mentioned that development on Nintendo’s console is going well, and indicated that he expects information to be released sometime soon. We unfortunately don’t have access to the program, but there may have been a hint that we’ll hear about it during the Tokyo Game Show in September.

Despite being announced a couple of years ago, Square Enix has still not shown Dragon Quest XI on Switch. However, we finally received confirmation earlier this year that it’s based on the PlayStation 4 version, as opposed to the 3DS release or something else entirely.

Okami HD

Okami HD makes its way to Switch tomorrow. We have the first hour of footage on Nintendo’s console, which you can watch below.

Nintendo has released a batch of Smash Bros Ultimate screenshots and art from today’s reveals. We’ve rounded up the images below.

No real surprise here, but Nintendo has confirmed that all of the new Smash Bros. Ultimate characters will be getting amiibo. That includes Simon Belmont, Richter Belmont, King K. Rool, Chrom and Dark Samus. No word yet on when the figures will be released.
