Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda comments on the Pokemon 2019 Switch title

In this week’s issue of Famitsu, the magazine will be publishing an interview with Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda. While we don’t have our hands on the full discussion yet as the issue hasn’t gone live, some early quotes have leaked out early. We’ve translated the tidbits thus far.

CyberConnect2 to launch Fugue on the Battlefield next summer in Japan

Several months ago, CyberConnect 2 announced a trio of titles. One of these was Fugue on the Battlefield, a Little Tail Bronx 20th anniversary title.
Fugue on the Battlefield has resurfaced in Famitsu with a Summer 2019 release window. CyberConnect2 president and CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama also provides the following development update:

Nintendo shares “Snake Eater” music from Smash Bros. Ultimate

Nintendo is back with another piece of music from Smash Bros. Ultimate. Below, you can listen to “Snake Eater”.
The original version of the music acted as the opening theme song for Metal Gear Solid 3. Nobuko Toda, a longtime composer for the series, was in charge of the arrangement for Smash Bros.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be playable at Evo 2018

The upcoming Super Smash Bros. entry for Switch will be featured at the Evolution Championship Series, or Evo for short. Its presence at the fighting games event further validates the series as an eSport.
Evo 2018 takes place between August 3 and August 5. Smash Bros. Ultimate will be located at Nintendo’s booth.
Several more Switch games announced for physical release, thanks to Super Rare Games

Today has been very busy if you’re a fan of physical Switch releases. Aside from Lovers in a Dangerous Space Time and Mutant Mudds Collection, a number of other titles will have boxed copies. These include Worms W.M.D., Knights of Pen and Paper, Knights of Pen and Paper II, Fairune Collection, Stereden Binary Stars, N++, and The Adventure Pals.
Most of these games are without a physical release date. However, we now know that Mutant Mudds Collection drops in August.
