BadLand Games donating 75% of their share from Axiom Verge sales to healthcare for creator’s son

The physical version of Axiom Verge launches on Switch and other platforms today. Creator Tom Happ teamed up with BadLand Games to make that possible.
We didn’t know about this previously, but BadLand Games will be donating 75% of its share to a special fund that will help cover the healthcare costs for Happ’s son, Alastair. It’s with a heavy heart that we say doctors failed to treat Alastair with a routine case of jaundice when he was just days old. This sadly left him with Kernicterus that severely impacts his motor control and hearing.
Happ says BadLand “didn’t want to publicize it, since none of us wanted to be seen as trying to use my son’s suffering as a marketing tool for the game.” Still, this is an admirable move on BadLand’s part.
Happ wrote the following on the Axiom Verge website today:

Super Mario Odyssey glitch letting players wreak havoc on jump-rope mini-game leaderboards
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 7 Comments
Super Mario Odyssey features a few different mini-games. Each one comes with its own leaderboards. Unfortunately, a glitch in the game is allowing some players to achieve astronomical scores that wouldn’t be possible otherwise.
The “talkatoo glitch” has been making the rounds as of late. By hitting and speaking to the hint-giving bird at the same time, the camera locks in place and can interrupt animations. Players are taking advantage of the glitch to max out the highest possible score of 99,999 in New Donk City’s jump-rope mini-game.
We have a feeling that Nintendo will patch out the glitch at some point. Something may have to be done with the leaderboards as well. Will Nintendo reset them, or will they remove every entry of 99,999?

Splatoon 2 updates incoming on November 23, December – new stages, gear, amiibo functionality, Clam Blitz, more
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 33 Comments
Nintendo has outlined two huge updates coming to Splatoon 2 on November 23 and in December.
Both updates are significant, but the one dropping this week will be adding more “stuff”. Nintendo will be rolling out new stages over the next few weeks, including MakoMart, Shellendorf Institute, Walleye Warehouse, and Arowana Mall. Salmon Run is also getting a new Salmonid Smokeyard stage.
On the gear front, roughly 140 pieces will be added. These include shoes, headgear and clothes, returning items from the original Splatoon, and more. Also incoming are new hairstyles, new battle music, higher level caps, new amiibo functionality, and convenient gear swapping.
In December, Splatoon 2 is adding Clam Blitz. Players will compete to collect clams scattered around the stage. The clam follows the player after they pick one up, and you’ll need to throw the clam into the basket near the opponent’s base. The first team to score 100 points wins. However, you’ll need to break a barrier by first collecting 10 clams and earning a Power Clam.
We have a ton of additional details about both updates below, along with a trailer.
