Slime-san dev on working with Nintendo
Posted on 7 years ago by Nick in News, Switch | 3 Comments
Fabraz, developer of Slime-san, had this to say in regards to working with Nintendo and the Switch:
(Nintendo has) been very supportive with us. We met some of them back at GDC and a few weeks later we were invited to become certified Nintendo Switch developers. Since then, whenever there was a problem, they were very responsive to any of our inquiries.
I’m INCREDIBLY grateful to have gotten the opportunity to release a game on one of their systems. Can’t overstate that enough!
In the case of the port from PC to Switch, it took them just a couple of months. Most of the issue that they had with the port was the result of trying to use the default resources of Unity as they learned the hardware. A little over a year! The porting process to the Switch was around 2-3 months, QA included. It was, honestly, pretty seamless. Unity and Nintendo did some prep work and the porting process wasn’t too hard.

Splatoon 2’s Splatfest carries over the mayonnaise vs. ketchup theme into the actual ink
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 39 Comments
Splatoon 2’s first actual Splatfest carries the same topic worldwide. It’s the battle of the condiments: mayonnaise and ketchup.
Even in the battles themselves, Nintendo is holding true to the Splatfest theme. The ink colors have the same exact mayonnaise and ketchup theme. Pretty neat, right?
The first Splatfest is already underway in Japan. It’ll begin at 12 AM ET / 9 PM PT tonight. In Europe, it’s scheduled to start at 4 PM on Saturday. Each event lasts for a full day.

Monster Hunter XX Switch details – rumble, DLC, more
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 12 Comments
Capcom uploaded a new trailer for Monster Hunter XX on Switch earlier this week. Alongside that video, new details were shared as well.
New to the Switch version of Monster Hunter XX is rumble. However, HD Rumble isn’t actually supported – it’s just standard rumble. The feature is enabled when a monster roars, when you strike a monster with a Hunting Art, and when Barufaruku’s special move known as Comet connects. Rumble can be enabled / disabled at any time.
