Dragon Quest XI: monster mount system detailed
Posted on 7 years ago by Matt(@OnePunchMaz) in 3DS, News, Switch | 5 Comments
The most recent issue of Weekly Jump magazine has introduced another new Dragon Quest XI feature – monster mounts. When defeating certain monsters in battle, you will occasionally be able to mount them. This will give you the ability to overcome various obstacles in the world and reach places you couldn’t get to on your own. Here are some examples of mounts and what you can do with them:
Dragon Rider: By riding this flying mount, you can obviously get to places you couldn’t reach on foot.
Skull Rider: You can climb up cliffs and dungeon walls using this mount.
Other than these familiar faces, there are also brand new monsters that you can ride:
Pearl Mobile: A mysterious machine that looks to be made out of a kind of metal resembling pearls. Riding it lets you leap to high places.
Bee Rider: An elite Ocobolt soldier riding a giant bee. By riding one yourself, it will allow you to cross lakes by simply flying over them.

Fan gives Switch the full Super Famicom treatment

One fan has gone above and beyond to fully customize a Switch unit. Every aspect has been redone to match the style of the Super Famicom – the console itself, the individual Joy-Con controllers, and even the dock.
What was used here are some really nice-looking skins. You can get a closer look at the customized Switch below with various photos.
This sort of makes you wonder if and when Nintendo will start coming out with different designs for Switch aside from just various Joy-Con colors. There were a ton of different options with the 3DS, so it wouldn’t be out of the blue to try something similar now.
No current option for audio gamechat in Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 7 Comments
Much like the Wii U version, Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition supports online play. There is a key difference separating the two versions though: audio gamechat.
This is something included with Minecraft on Wii U. But with Switch, no such option exists. It’s thought that we won’t be seeing it until Nintendo finishes the upcoming smartphone app.
Rime’s digital version now costs $10 less on Switch, physical version to come with soundtrack code
Posted on 7 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Switch | 31 Comments
It was announced a couple of months ago that Rime would be priced at $39.99 / €44.99 / £39.99 on Switch. That’s despite the fact that all other versions will be sold for $29.99 / €34.99 / £29.99. Naturally, people weren’t happy about the $10 price hike, but publisher Grey Box is looking to soften the blow.
Rime’s digital version will now cost $10 less, down to $29.99 / €34.99 / £29.99. Although the physical version’s price isn’t changing, it will now include a printed code for a download of the full soundtrack, which will normally cost $10 on its own.
Grey Box reiterated today that the original price difference comes down to “the additional development, manufacturing, and publishing costs” on Switch. If it were any lower, Rime would be sold at a loss.
