For the awards, it’s worth noting that Bayonetta 3 took home the prize for “Nintendo Game of the Year”. Nintendo was also selected for “Publisher of the Year”.

Cult of the Lamb update Heavy Attack

Massive Monster has shared some early information about a new content update it has in the works for Cult of the Lamb, including the addition of a Heavy Attack.

The developer said that it’s now focusing on “adding more depth to the game”, and the team is concentrating on combat and dungeon gameplay. Other fixes are also planned that will be applied in a patch at the start of 2023.

Here’s a rundown of the Heavy Attack in Cult of the Lamb:

The Art and Making of Hogwarts Legacy

Retailers have listed The Art and Making of Hogwarts Legacy, a new book for the upcoming Switch title. It contains over 200 pages delving into the creation of the game.

Going into more of the specifics, the book goes over how the settings, characters, costumes and creatures of the game were conjured, and allows players to pore over the details of this magical new realm of the Wizarding World. It has developer interviews, concept sketches, renders, illustrations.

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Switch OLED

Rumor has it that a new Switch OLED design is on the way for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Reddit user AyoadeNBN shared the photos without much context. However, this person claims that the model was leaked by a worker at a Chinese factory or someone else within the manufacturing line. Apparently the Splatoon 3 Switch OLED had leaked in a similar manner.

The latest Japanese hardware sales from Famitsu are as follows:

Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning Fatesworn delayed 2023

The Fatesworn expansion for Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning came out around this time on most platforms last year, but when we last heard about it for Switch, the new content was planned for 2022. However, there hasn’t been much in the way of news over the past few months. With only a few days left in the year, perhaps it’s unsurprising to state that the Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning Fatesworn expansion has been delayed to 2023 on Switch.

That news comes from the official Twitter account. While it’s a bit of a disappointment, THQ Nordic did clarify that the expansion is “almsot done” for Nintendo’s console. We don’t have any sort of date, but it’s apparently coming soon – so an early 2023 launch isn’t out of the question.

Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes systems

Level-5 is still hard at work on the next Inazuma Eleven game – now known as Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes – after many years of development. Today, the company provided a new status report on the project. This follows the last update in July.

The game system, world view, story, and more have now been solidified. Level-5 intends to release information in stages from here.

We have not one, but two new character introductions for Fire Emblem Engage today with Nintendo and Intelligent Systems showing off Sommie and Panette. Credit goes to the official Japanese Twitter account with SatsumaFS sharing translations.

Sommie we have less information on. This is merely said to be a mysterious creature named Sommie that has lived in Somniel since the olden days. If you take good care of it, something good may happen.

Switch hardware refresh Digital Foundry

Rumors of a more powerful Switch – often dubbed by fans as the Switch Pro – have persisted for years. The thought was that Nintendo would come out with a new piece of hardware that isn’t quite a successor, but would be a step up  from what we have now. Presumably this theoretical device would allow for things such as technical improvements when it comes to aspects like frame rate and resolution and perhaps even better visuals.

Digital Foundry’s John Linneman has now weighed in on the situation in the outlet’s latest podcast. After speaking with some developers, he believes Nintendo was at once point toying around with a Switch hardware refresh. However, “that seems to no longer be happening” and the company is apparently pursuing a true successor instead.
