Nintendo Switch Online icons returning as daily special rewards

Nintendo Switch Online is doing a little something different for its latest user icons promotion. Starting today, elements for multiple games will be returning on a daily basis. That means you’ll have a chance to obtain icons you missed out previously.
Super Mario Odyssey, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Mario Strikers: Battle League, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, NES, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and Kirby’s Dream Buffet are making a return. Out of this batch, it looks like Kirby and the Forgotten Land is first up. You can see the full schedule below.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet start distribution for Ice Tera Shards

The latest distribution has started up in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, which provides an easy way to obtain Ice Tera Shards. 50 are up for grabs in total.
The Terastal phenomenon is new to these Switch games, as Tera types are a part of the experience. Players can use Tera Shards to change the type that their creature has. One of the main ways to obtain shards is by battling Tera Pokemon in Paldea. While today’s distribution is specific to ice, there are other types of Shards in the game as well.

Publisher Serenity Forge and developer LimboLane today announced that Smile For Me is coming to Switch. It will be available in Spring 2023.
Smile For Me is an offbeat point-and-click adventure game in which you don’t speak a single word. Communication instead happens by nodding and shaking your heard through various situations. Although the title first debuted in 2019, the new version will Switch has a remastered soundtrack, controller support, motion controls, Easter eggs, UI updates and new languages.
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris delayed to 2023 on Switch

We have a brief update on the Switch versions of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, with both titles having been delayed to 2023.
The games were previously announced for Nintendo’s platform in October 2021. They were originally planned for this year, but 2022 is almost over and there haven’t been any status updates.

Another Fire Emblem Engage character introduction is here, and we now have a look at Kagetsu. This is thanks to the series’ Japanese Twitter account with SatsumaFS handling translations.
Kagetsu, a soldier at the capital of Elusia, is Ivy’s retainer. His personality is said to be bright and cheerful. Also, he gets along well with others and cares for his friends. Kagetsu has a distinct foreign accent, which could be because of his upbringing in a Deeprealm.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe update out now (version 2.2.1), patch notes

Another update is here for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, with the game moving up to version 2.2.1. We also have the official patch notes from Nintendo.
This isn’t quite major as only two specific issues have been addressed. The first one deals with Berlin Byways getting choppy when playing online. With the second, Lakitu wouldn’t put players in the correct spot after falling off of course in London Loop, but this has now been addressed. Based on what Nintendo has said, that’s all there is here.

Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom getting “The Life of Insects” DLC in January

Bandai Namco has set a release date for the second round of Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom DLC, “The Life of Insects”. All players will be able to access it on January 19, 2023, publisher Bandai Namco and developer Marvelous announced today.
Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom players can obtain all DLC as part of the season pass. The pass contains outfits for Noby and Friends, furniture, and mini-stories.
Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom is out now on Switch. If you opt for the game’s Special Edition, the season pass is automatically included.
