During today’s Nintendo Direct, details were shared about the next major update for Nintendo Switch Sports, which is highlighted by the addition of golf. All players can access it starting this holiday.

Golf will include 21 holes from the Wii Sports series. Players can go up against friends in local play or with up to eight players in the new online Survival Mode. Whoever takes the most strokes each round is out.

Nintendo has revealed details about the wave 3 DLC for the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass wave 3 DLC, which will be launching this holiday. Merry Mountain from Mario Kart Tour and Peach Gardens from Mario Kart DS will be included. Other tracks will be confirmed later on.

Atelier Ryza 3

Koei Tecmo and Gust have revealed the next addition to the Atelier series, with Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key on the way to Switch. It will launch on February 24, 2023.

The new game will be featured at the Tokyo Game Show later in the week. However, Koei Tecmo decided to feature the initial announcement during today’s Nintendo Direct.

Mario Strikers Battle League Pauline Diddy Kong

Nintendo has provided details about the next content update for Mario Strikers: Battle League. Pauline and Diddy Kong are both joining the game, along with a new stadium and more gear, individual rankings based on skill points, customization options for the supporters in the audience, and stadium effect options.

Rune Factory 3 Special

Rune Factory 3 Special is heading to Switch, XSEED and Marvelous announced today. Look for it in 2023.

Rune Factory 3 originally launched for DS. This new version has HD visuals and redesigned character models.

Sifu coming to Switch

Sifu, an action rogue-like beat ’em up game, is making the jump to Switch, it’s been announced. The game launches on November 8, 2022.

Theatrhythm Final Bar Line

Today, Square Enix announced Theatrhythm Final Bar Line for Switch. A release is planned for February 16, 2023.

Theatrhythm Final Bar Line continues the rhythm action series with 385 tracks, including iconic Final Fantasy songs like “One-Winged Angel”, “Torn From the Heavens”, and “Suteki Da Ne”, with more planned for post-launch. 90 additional paid DLC songs from the SaGa series, NieR series, Octopath Traveler, and Live A Live are planned. Editions containing a season pass and 27 extra songs, including “Melodies Of Life ~Final Fantasy” from Final Fantasy IX will be available.

Octopath Traveler II

Square Enix is developing Octopath Traveler II for Switch, the company has revealed. The game launches February 24, 2023.

The first Octopath Traveler launched for Switch in 2018. Over three million copies of the RPG have been sold worldwide.

Splatoon 3 Splatfest

Splatoon 3 has revealed its first Splatfest. For the theme, players are asked what they would bring to a deserted island: gear, grub, or fun.

The Splatfest kicks off on September 23 at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET. It will end on September 25 at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET.
