Wii U eShop

A few months ago, My Nintendo added in birthday discounts for North American members. Nintendo has been sending out emails with a select lineup of games that can be purchased on the eShop for 30 percent off.

The same offer is now extended to Europe as well. As of this month, if you registered for a Nintendo Account (with a linked Nintendo Network ID) and opted in to receive promotional emails from Nintendo, you’ll receive a notice during your birthday month.

The current lineup of games to choose from are as follows:

Wii U

Super Mario Maker
Splatoon
Yoshi’s Woolly World
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD
Xenoblade Chronicles X

3DS

Monster Hunter Generations
Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon
Bravely Second: End Layer
Tomodachi Life
The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes

Note that the list above is as of October. The selection is swapped out “regularly.”

Santa Ragione is teaming up with MixedBag to bring Wheels of Aurelia to Wii U. The “narrative road trip game” is short in that playthroughs take roughly fifteen minutes, but there are sixteen different endings in total. You’ll follow “the story of Lella, a restless woman driving on the roads of the western coast of Italy”.

Here’s a trailer:

Thanks to a tweet from MixedBag earlier today, we now know that a Wii U version of Wheels of Aurelia is in the works:

Indie developer Taylor Hajash has decided to move on from the world of game development. On Wii U, Hajash worked on the eShop release Tiny Galaxy.

In a Tumblr post, Hajash explained that creating games is an extremely tough process, which doesn’t always lead to the highest degree of success. He’s now moving onto comic books as another one of his passions.

You may recall that a fairly substantial update was planned for Tiny Galaxy. As of now, it’s unclear what will happen to it. Hajash said “Nintendo just straight up won’t respond to my emails or attempted contact to find out what all they need for the Wii U update”, so it’s currently in limbo.

Head past the break to read up on Hajash’s full message.

Nintendo recently posted a video interview with Shin’en on its German YouTube page. Martin Sauter, the studio’s art director, took on some community questions. Sauter talked about the history of Shin’en, FAST Racing Neo in depth (making it easier for beginners, length of development, not trying to create an F-Zero spiritual successor), interest in the continued support of Nintendo platforms, and more.

The interview hasn’t been made available in other languages officially, but we did take the time to translate the whole thing in English. Head past the break to read it in full.
