This past weekend, Nintendo hosted a special 30th anniversary Zelda concert in Kyoto, Japan. It was a big event as key staff involved with the series were present – Shigeru Miyamoto, Eiji Aonuma, Takashi Tezuka, and Koji Kondo. Famitsu shared an in-depth report of what occurred and what was said.

Voice actress Ruriko Aoki hosted the concert. She was actually planning on buying a ticket for the event in Nagoya, and even asked her agency to free up her schedule. However, she was eventually told that she got the job for this concert. Series producer Eiji Aonuma also appeared and introduced Aoki. The two showed up together during a Niconico Majora’s Mask 3D live stream last year, and since she’s a big fan of Zelda, he asked her to be the MC.

Warner Bros. released a bunch of new LEGO Dimensions packs last week, including one based on Ghostbusters. Eurogamer has now come across an entertaining Easter egg relating to the film.

Before the new Ghostbusters movie hit theaters, it saw quite the fan backlash. Some people weren’t happy that the franchise was receiving a new film, as they felt the original two films were fine as is. Others weren’t pleased that the team was changed from all male to all female.

In LEGO Dimensions’ new pack, writer and director Paul Feig is hiding in the first level. After unlocking him from a cupboard, he says: “I wonder if they’d be mad if I remade ‘Back to the Future’.” That’s incredibly unlikely to happen, though Feig has joked about remaking Back to the Future as a way of having fun with some of the Ghostbusters internet trolls.

Yooka-Laylee will be more than just a digital download. Today, Playtonic confirmed that its 3D platformer is indeed getting a physical version.

When Yooka-Laylee launches in Q1 2017, fans will be able to purchase either a digital or boxed release. Playtonic is currently working on a way for Kickstarter backers to upgrade digital pledges to the retail version as an option. The team is still working out the kinks, but this should be available soon.

Today, Activision announced the “Countdown to Creation” event for Skylanders, a month-long celebration for Skylanders.

The release of the free Skylanders Creator mobile app kicks off the festivities. It allows fans to create Imaginators from scratch or transfer characters from Skylanders Imaginators on consoles. The app can then be used to immortalize Skylanders Imaginators through the following physical forms:

3D Printed Imaginator Figure – Fans can bring their character creations from the digital world to life in the physical world as a 3D printed Skylanders Imaginators figure. The custom-printed Imaginator arrives in full color, posed on a base and enclosed in a clear protective dome — making it a true collector’s item. The figure is fully playable in the Skylanders Imaginators console game! Quantities are limited for 3D figures.

SteamWorld Collection, the physical bundle that contains both SteamWorld Heist and SteamWorld Dig, was originally slated to launch on October 11th in North America. However, the game has now suffered a slight delay – publisher Rising Star Games had to push the game’s release back to November 1st because of “manufacturing delays”.
