Rumors

Persona 5 may not be the only game Best Buy has leaked for Switch. Also spotted in the retailer’s employee system, Metroid Prime Trilogy has been listed.

Here’s a look:

For the past several months, there have been ongoing rumors of Persona 5 for Switch. We haven’t covered them here because there’s been all sorts of information floating around about when it would be announced and whether or not it was real. However, there’s apparently some new evidence that points to Persona 5 happening on Switch after all.

Today, Reddit user groo0731 shared some photos online from Best Buy’s internal system. That system lists Persona 5 for Switch, but it’s not live on the site itself.

Persona 5’s Joker will be added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as the game’s first DLC pack character within the next month. Despite that, we’ve yet to get a full look at him. Nintendo hasn’t shown a single screenshot of Joker or even a look at his render.

Now fans think that Best Buy may have provided a first look. In the retailer’s latest ad, the image above is included. That does look like a possible render and could be a look at how Joker will be released in amiibo form.

In any case, Joker is coming to Smash Bros. Ultimate very soon. Let’s hope that Nintendo will be sending out assets not too long from now.

Cadence of Hyrule is an unexpected crossover between The Legend of Zelda and Crypt of the NecroDancer. But how did that collaboration between Nintendo and Brace Yourself Games happen anyway?

We do at least know some of the backstory. Brace Yourself approached Nintendo about having Zelda characters in something such as Crypt of the NecroDancer DLC. After the two talked, it eventually ended up as a brand new game.

Rumors of new Switch models picked up again yesterday after The Wall Street Journal published its latest report. Eurogamer has now come forward with an article of its own detailing what it has heard.

Eurogamer, citing “sources close to Nintendo,” shares the following:

Atlus announced Persona 5: The Royal earlier today. Unfortunately, it has only been confirmed for PlayStation 4 (at least for now) even though there were rumors of a Switch version also happening. Yet despite that news, the game may have a connectioon to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Over the past few days, Gearbox has been sharing images on Twitter that tease upcoming announcements for PAX East 2019. Another one was published today, and it’s one that Nintendo fans could be interested in.

Gearbox’s latest tease is a pixelated screenshot from a mystery game. The thing is, it’s not actually that mysterious. Fans quickly determined that it’s an already-released screenshot from the action-RPG first-person shooter Borderlands 2.

Here’s a look at the pixelated image:

Yesterday, speculation began to surface about Microsoft going all in on Switch. Rumor has it that Nintendo’s console will be getting an app with support for Xbox Game Pass and Project xCloud, and we could even be seeing games such as Ori and the Blind Forest on the system.

French site JeuxVideo has followed up with its own report. The site makes new claims such as Cuphead possibly landing on Switch, and the potential of Microsoft’s top franchises making an appearance.

A couple of years ago, Microsoft started a gaming subscription service known as Xbox Game Pass. By paying a certain amount, players can gain access to a library of Xbox One and Xbox 360 titles. Rumor has it that Xbox Game Pass will be making its way to Switch in the future – and possibly more from Microsoft.

The speculation originated from Direct-Feed Games, who claims that an Xbox app is in the works for Switch. This would support Xbox Game Pass and the Project xCloud streaming service. The latter could allow for titles that wouldn’t be technically possible on Switch by streaming them online. Game Informer backs up some of these claims and has heard that “the announcement of Game Pass on Switch could come as soon as this year.”

Earlier in the week, Game Informer senior editor Imran Khan stopped by the Kinda Funny Games Daily show. Khan ended up sharing what sounds like a pretty interesting rumor regarding Nintendo reviving a “dead and buried” game.

He stated:
