Switch

nWay has announced that a new 2.4.0 update is releasing today for Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid. Aside from bug fixes, it’ll come with many character adjustments.

The full patch notes are as follows:

As fans continue to datamine Super Mario 3D All-Stars, it’s been discovered that the collection’s N64 emulator has strings for other N64 titles. These include:

Nighthawk Interactive and MGA Entertainment have announced L.O.L. Surprise! Remix: We Rule the World. The Switch game, based on the new fall toy release, is due out on November 3 in North America and November 6 in Europe.

Nintendo Switch

The latest Switch update has done a bit more than improved the system’s stability. Based on new reports from dataminers, a bunch of banned words have been added.

The list includes:

Psyonix has announced that Rocket League will be going free to play on September 23. Additionally, a new update arrives tomorrow for the big change and an upcoming event.

Here’s what’s on the way:

Super Mario 3D All-Stars

Super Mario 3D All-Stars won’t be out until Friday, but it appears that the collection has already leaked online. That is disappointing – especially from Nintendo – but some fans are already picking through the code and files in hopes of finding out how it was put together.

Based on initial findings, Super Mario 3D All-Stars appears to work through emulation. That goes for Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy.

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox is due out for Switch in Summer 2021.

Immortals: Fenyx Rising

Immortals Fenyx Rising is no longer called Gods & Monsters. While one may have thought that the change was made internally at Ubisoft, the company may have actually been forced to go with something else.

YouTuber Hoeg Law and TechRaptor have reported that Monster Energy filed a legal opposition to the Gods & Monsters trademark in April 2020. Ubisoft responded a month later and confirmed the name change to Immortals Fenyx Rising. It’s possible that Ubisoft could have defeated the opposition, but it would have required time and money, and there were no guarantees.

As for Monster Energy, the company felt that there was potential for trademark confusion. The Monster branding is used in the video game space for the likes of clothes and accessories, as a sponsor of esports events, and in a video game – Monster Energy Supercross: The Official Video Game. Ubisoft did initially argue that several hundred other uses of the word “monster” are currently live trademarks.
