The general reception for Rime has been positive, but the Switch version specifically could use some work. From a technical perspective, the game could run better with an improved frame rate and resolution.

Thankfully, the team is aware of the “hitches” players have reported on Switch and are investigating the issues. A post on the official forums states that “some aspects of the game are beyond a patch-level fix, but there are changes that can be made to improve some elements.” Currently the plan is to update players on the direction the developer will be taking in January.

Here’s the full status update:

Famitsu published a new interview this week with Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma. It was pretty interesting, with Aonuma talking about Breath of the Wild winning “Game of the Year” at The Game Awards, including his mindset at the time and why he started out by saying “Thank you America!” He also spoke about The Champions’ Ballad DLC, and confirmed that development on the game has concluded.

We’ve prepared a translation with the most notable parts from Famitsu’s interview. You can read it below.

Several months ago, hackers discovered that the Switch has a special tribute to late Nintendo president Satoru Iwata. On July 11, the day of Iwata’s passing, system owners could unlock Golf from the NES. You simply needed to perform his signature “direct” motion from the older Nintendo Direct presentations on the home menu.

For whatever reason, Nintendo decided to remove the Easter egg as of version 4.0.0. That firmware has been around since late October, but its removal was only detected recently. The official code was deleted from the home menu, and all code was overwritten. Even when you attempt to load it manually, an error will be returned.

Why did Nintendo ultimately remove the tribute? That we can’t say. We can only hope that it will return closer to July 2018.

The holidays are here, the Square Enix is celebrating in style. New art was shared on the official Japanese Bravely Default Twitter account today, posted above.

Naturally, fans are already starting to speculate that the Bravely series could be appearing on Switch. We do see Edea Lee with Joy-Con in her hands after all. And perhaps the idea isn’t entirely crazy. After PlatinumGames posted some Bayonetta-themed art during the summer, Bayonetta 1 and 2 were announced for Switch at The Game Awards earlier this month. But for now, the Bravely games coming to Switch is merely speculation.
